Jeb Bush Detractors can leave their apologies here.

Posted on 10/21/2003 2:47:00 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

If the moderators will allow this thread, I would like to hear from those with courage enough to admit their mistakes in attacking Governor Jeb Bush, "suggesting that blood would be on his hands", calling him a murderer and worse with no evidence to back up their assaults.

While today is a great day, I would like to know how many people are willing to stand up and admit their wrongs?

Some may think it unnecessary, but I think a pound of flesh is in order, in a single place were we can all see and read about it. Please remove if this is out of bounds, but in all the congradulatory threads, I dont see too many folks willing to suck it up.

"Nanny nanny do do I told you so", is a kid' game.

My agenda, was to not miss any of the forthcoming apologies, and to see which persons would do so, and which would not, so that I would know better who I could take seriously when reading their comments in the future. I am not trying to polarize people. I am trying to illustrate that we can sometimes go too far. Yes, like I said, I wanted my pound of flesh, but primarily from a spineless idiot who insulted many of us, who lacks the guts to do the right thing.

Oh, and there are 3 nannys' in "I told you so", not 2.

If someone responded emotionaly to the idea of an unjust death by starvation , I call them human , not idots or asses.

They're emotional humans, not thinking humans.

It's a good thing they're not in charge of anything, or this bill passed over the last 24 hours would never have made it.

I ask you again, what did you do to help this along? I have seen you on every thread repeating the same old thing over and over again. Calling us all emotional and idiots.

What exactly did you do? . Who did you email?. Who did you call? What e-mail loops were you on, who did you forward messges to .. what research did you do for Florida representatives. What Media did you contact, which radio programs were you on? How many times did you read and re- read the documents and look at Terri 's site.. looking for a miracle? Did you memorize data to share with people to inform the public of what was going on?

What did you do that allows you to sit in judgement of people who worked their asses off and made their voices heard about an unjust death sentance?

"I didn't think he had the political "guts" to do the right thing. "

You misunderstand. Prior to today, he was hamstrung. He could NOT legally "do the right thing". Once the legislature opened the door he quickly "did the right thing".

You see, he follows, rightly or wrongly, by the 'ruling law', as opposed to those who would follow, rightly or wrongly, by 'feelings' only.

My kind of conservative.

I tried to add a little balance to jerkweeds who wanted to impeach Jeb, who flooded his office with bags of Jello, and who threatened him.

You underestimated this man, and you don't have the guts to admit it.

Tell me, if he had sent storm-troopers into the hospice, and a court had stopped him (which it would have), do you think the Florida Legislature would have acted today?

No, they would have run for the tall grass. They would NOT have backed a lunatic governor who disobeys a ruling from a judge.

I commend you for what you did in support of Terri; acting like rabid dogs toward Jeb Bush was out of line, and I notice you still haven't apologized for it.

What exactly did you do?

Whoa, whoa, slow down, cowboy.

That's not the point, nor does it matter.

You cant deny that some folks went off half-cocked on the Governor, can you? That is the point here. In retrospect, I went off too in Bush's defense. Maybe this thread was a mistake. I meant it for healing, not for more recriminations. I believe that Freepers played a role in saving that woman's life. That does not hide the fact that a lot of Freepers slandered Jeb Bush.

Some people wanted to do to Jeb what they did to his father who was a war hero, a decent and good family man, a loyal Vice President to Ronald Reagan, a better President than many of his predecessors, a dedicated public servant....

You have your opinion I have mine. I've been a Leader but I don't have to justify my position to you. Be a follower if you wish, I won't be.

The man is not a moral leader. Don't like my opinion? Don't read it.

her husband michael may have been the one who put her in that condition, through abuse and then wanted her to die ,so he could collect the million dollars she got from a malpractice suit, and michael also wanted her cremated right after her death...why do you suppose he wanted to do that??? certainly not to cover up his crime of abuse against her,the doctors who took x-rays of her think she was strangled....

You have no more idea what the possible outcome of that would have been than I do.

Or do you? Can you predict the future?

I thought not

: I'm in awe of your ability to sit on your brains and watch as a woman was made to suffer a torture common during eleventh century, and then have the arrogance to chastise those who were doing something to stop this murder.

May God forgiveness wash away your tilted sense of yourself.

I would never applaud the Governor for only doing his job. I think Jeb Bush followed the law, and when the law wasnt there, he waited until he got one. I am happy about the outcome so far, but I'm not ready to put him on Mt Rushmore. This thread is not about applauding Jeb, it is about a single(hopefully) thread where those who were wrong, can say so with grace and panache. There are those that I wont name, who hide in the shadows, so sure of their rhetoric, who now wont come into the light. They scurry like cockroaches looking for another hole in the wall, not to return until they smell something rotten in their world. This thread is for them.

He COULD NOT make a decision on his own. The ruling had to go through proper channels to have it stick. Think about it...President Bush cannot make such rulings on his own. Governorships basically work the same way.

then have the arrogance to chastise those who were doing something to stop this murder.

Trashing Jeb Bush's office with boxes of Jello benefitted the US Postal Service and nothing else.

Your motivations are always suspect, Robert. You called anyone elected to public office "scum," conveniently forgetting that your fellow citizens elect those people to office.

Of course, I realize you also hold your fellow citizens in contempt, which is why you hang around with those marginal, separatist groups.
