Actually that isn't true.

After all, you are jumping to conclusions about what a UFO is by making that assertion of proof.

All that must be demonstrated is that there is no scientific explanation for some captured videotape, and this has been done before. Thus, UFO's are proven.

That does not do anything to prove what they are, though. They could be govt. craft or something.

P.S. When the first draft of this article was made public, despite the story that he is very sick, e-mail was receiving from Phil Klass who asked this author if he had "verified" statements attributed to Coleman, Doty, and Emenegger.

A return e-mail was sent asking Klass to "verify" contacts and conversations he had with people like Coleman, Col. David Shea, and others. At that point I would describe what had been done to "verify" statements.

Nothing has been heard from Klass since.

I'm reluctant to say too much because of issues of privacy and that I've recently come into posessions of his papers and haven't had the time yet to go through them. But I can say that he had been in contact with scientific and military officials at high levels of Government in the US and Canada about UFO's until the lid came down suddenly and almost completly in the mid-50's.

He continued to peruse the issue and was a founding member of NICAP.

Generally that stuff doesn't get out to the civilian population....and the amount in govt. hands is probably not much either.

In any case, such evidence is not necessary to prove the existence of unexplained craft.

I'm not going to get into a full time career of debunking UFO stuff. I will address the first two things you raised, though. I figure if I keep finding nothing when I dig, then its time to stop digging.

About the supposed "law" against contact with ET's.

It doesn't exist. 14 CFR Section 1211 (an administrative regulation, not a law or statute), was repealed in 1991 and has not been replaced. It was passed in 1969 for the obvious purpose of preventing contamination from whatever might return with the Apollo astronauts. I invite anyone to read the actual text that you provided, and come to their own conclusions about its intent. In fact, even the UFO site link you provided that discussed the reg and its nefarious prohibitions admitted that it would take a "stretch" for the regulation to be interpreted as banning any contact with ET's. In fact, the tale of 14 CFR 1211 is so bogus that it actually earned its own entry on scopes.com, home of urban legend debunking.

As far as Ike and his dentist, I'll shorten things by assuming that there was a cover-up, and that he did something besides going to the dentist. But nothing in that link provides any evidence other than the fact that he wasn't where he was supposed to be as support for the claim that he was viewing space aliens. That's just terrible deductive reasoning by whomever is making that claim.

Let's say I get invited to a function I really don't want to attend, and give the excuse that "I have to work". Someone checks up on me, and I'm not at work. From that, they deduce that I must have been viewing the bodies of space aliens. See the problem? The only link to aliens in the story you provided was from some loony guy whom even that site did not believe.

Just because a certain theory fits the facts doesn't mean its correct, because there may well be plenty of alternative theories that also fit those limited facts.

As for the rest of the stuff, I already spent too much time ferreting out these first two things you listed, and twice accidentally deleted my almost complete response. I'll just reiterate the general comments I made before about the reliability of the conclusions drawn by both self-described experts and lay persons regarding ET's, and leave someone else to address the details.

As snoopes points out, "'Extra-Terrestrial Exposure Law.' The purpose of Title 14, Section 1211 of the CFR was not to 'make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles'; the law allowed the government to prevent the possibility of biological contamination from pathogens carried to Earth by men and objects returning from space by enforcing a quarantine on any people, plant or animal life, or other material that had "touched directly or come within the atmospheric envelope of any other celestial body."

Snopes continues:

"In other words, if you were an astronaut returning from a mission to the surface of the moon (or any other celestial body), the government could require you to undergo a quarantine; if you did not travel into space yourself but had indirect 'extraterrestial exposure' through contact with returning astronauts, their space capsules, or any samples or other material brought back from the surface (or atmosphere) of another celestial body, the government could require you to undergo a quarantine."

If you've seen the links that have been posted, the only such law that even arguably did that was repealed more than a decade ago. Presumably, there should have been a flood of hard evidence by now.
