TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.

The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.

Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

I hope that WHEN she is spared, she progresses as best she can with her therapy and is shown to the world that she is not a "vegetable."

If the special legislation only puts a stop to the starvation, Terri won't be in any better shape otherwise, because barring an act of God, Schiavo and Greer will still deny therapy. But it's a start.

I pray that this would put a dagger in the euthanasia movement, or at least be a major victory against it.

It puzzles me how these starvation deaths can be called "eu" thanasia at all. They are not quick or easy, like we even afford to condemned murderers. Cacothanasia?

Jeb had exchanged emails with a Freeper who posted them on another thread. The gist of them, I believe, was that Jeb indicated he could not do anything...? I wonder what happened?

I read a headline (didn't have time to read the FR article) that said Judicial Watch was going after the husband with crimminal charges?
Anyone read the article for verification?

Can't Bush just "double call" the session? It sounds to me like the vote requirement is for additional subjects taken up at the legislature's initiative, not at the governor's.

Are they referring to the estranged spouse who has spent his free time knocking up another woman (twice) and is still entitled to any life insurance proceeds etc. on Terri - all while Terri lies in her "vegetative state"? That husband?

Polly & ALL: I had similar problem.....that Post #17...list of Reps & Senators has semi-colons between email addresses.....I must change them to commas to work for me.....perhaps that is your problem as well....try a few & see if that solves it.

I support criminal prosecution for Michael Schiavo! This man is the lowest of the low! When he saw that he did not want his wife, Terri, any longer, he should have returned her to her parents. No one is supposed to kill someone or cause them to die for lack of food and water, just because they do not fit into their plans at the moment. If it were up to me to determine who should live or die, I would let
Michael Shaivo pass on for failing to be even human.

From your link --

Volunteers with the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have learned that Senate President, Jim King is against this bill.

The Bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths currently pending in Florida.

We have come to a time when the merchants of death have created a constitutional crisis and a justice gridlock, while the rightful life of Florida’s disabled and vulnerable citizens tragically hang on Terri Schindler-Schiavo’s court ordered dehydration and starvation death.

Just checked my In Box... I have tons of "Thank you for writing" and just a couple undelivered. That's weird. How many of them were returned? (I'll go back and count now.)
