With Republicans like Jeb, we don't need Democrats to do us in.
Outrageous, you say? How can a mere judge hold more power than the governor, you say? Reality, I say. It's been that way for a while now, while everybody was sleeping. We're no longer a Republic, we are ruled by the Philosopher-Kings of the Judiciary.

I thought your point was that if there's new evidence that proves the situation is contrary to the original evidence, justice would prevail. If I misread what you said, I apologize. It's been a rough day. I've had to hit the nitro once so far, and I don't need to do that very often.

Ah, I see I didn't make myself clear. Allow me to rephrase:

  1. The trial court is always right.
  2. When the trial court is wrong, refer to rule #1.
Reread my original post with that in mind and see if you agree with it then. And yes I am aware that the ability to reconcile any new finding with the old is merely a necessary but not sufficient condition.

As they approached, the farmers and their supporters gathered together in front of the entrance and ... began singing hymns to the US Marshals! The marshals were completely taken back. They stopped cold as if though running into a barrier and backed up to their car. Several of those faithful farmers believe that God in Heaven took a hand in their behalf that day

And I belive with that same type of faith Teri's family and a few supporters could walk into that hospice and carry her out. Be it thru the softening of hearts of the officers present, or by the blindness caused by God's mercy I care not.

Is it true that Jeb Bush could be doing more than what he is doing right now?

Doesnt the terrisfight site have documents from other legislators saying that he can do more? But still he isnt?

Is this true? If so, what should he be doing that he's not?

Wow, I didn't know that a guardian could deny someone her religious rights. This doesn't seem right.

"This doesn't seem right."

There is a great deal about this case that isn't right.

I think someone should do something, but what? I have
wondered why the parents haven't gotten her away from
the husband years ago, but I have learned a long time
ago I don't understand a lot of things. I wonder whether
most people, clergy included, aren't very, very comfy
with the status quo and unwilling to "break the law" or
rock the boat.

This really isn't an appropriate thread for you to try and engage someone in one of p*ss*ng matches. Have a little respect for once.

Apparently, it's a matter of the opinion of the judge hearing the case. You are like me, thinking that there are some retained rights by individuals that can't be delegated out to anyone, but this judge doesn't see it the same way you or I do. It's weird. If you read the statutes, it's right there in black and white, but you get to the courtroom and the same statute means something totally different. I don't get it.
