Outrageous, you say? How can a mere judge hold more power than the governor, you say? Reality, I say. It's been that way for a while now, while everybody was sleeping. We're no longer a Republic, we are ruled by the Philosopher-Kings of the Judiciary.

So, an innocent man was executed.

Nonsense. The evidence was just a new twist on evidence that had already been presented.

Death row inmates introduce "new" evidence in an effort to stall.

No more stalling, at least not in Texas.

The man was not "innocent."

Either this report from BayNews is true:

On other fronts, Monsignor Thaddeus Malanowski, who has been Terri's spiritual provider for over 3 years, was told he may not administer to her the sacrament of Holy Communion. Monsignor was informed by police at Hospice that he would be arrested if he tried to administer the Catholic woman the sacrament.

Or this report heard on KSFO is true:

Just heard on Barbara Simpson's show on KSFO 560 that a monsigneur came to give Terri communion, with family present. Terri actually ATE SOME OF THE WAFER and swallowed it! Then the husband told the priest that if he tried to give her the wine, he would be arrested.

As much as I want to hope that Terri received the sacrament and ate some of the host, I'm afraid the BayNews report sounds more believable.

My prayer is that my instincts about this are wrong.

Trial courts always make correct decisions based on the evidence before them. Anything that would show otherwise is erroneous. Therefore, anything that would cause the trial-court's decisions to be incorrect must be consistent with the trial court's decision having been a correct interpretation of the evidence then available.

Not always.

I'm confused; you say "not always", but then you go on to give an example that supports what I wrote. Was I unclear?

But the woman, Pat Anderson, who was reporting is in Florida.

Isn't Pat Anderson the atty for the Schindlers? I'm sure that was the name of the woman on Fox the other night with Terri's brother.

This is like a plumber standing there, plunger in hand, furiously wracking his brains for "a way" to stop the toilet from overflowing.

Good analogy.

That's the info I got from an e-mail from Phenn. Here's what she had to say:

"On Sunday, October 19, 2003, as the round-the-clock vigil continues for Terri Schindler-Schiavo, protesters have arranged a demonstration to show their dismay at Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush.

Volunteers for the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have learned that a group of Republican demonstrators are planning to shred their voter registration cards and officially change their party affiliations in order to call attention to the Governor’s refusal to intervene on behalf of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

Governor Bush has received more than 130,000 petitions to intervene on behalf of the disabled Pinellas County woman since July of this year. He has been instructed by 7 distinguished legal experts that, not only does he have the authority to act, but that he also has an obligation to take action.

Mr. Bush, during his Gubernatorial race in Florida, called himself a “Champion of the disabled”.

On other fronts, Monsignor Thaddeus Malanowski, who has been Terri’s spiritual provider for over 3 years, was told he may not administer to her the sacrament of Holy Communion. Monsignor was informed by police at Hospice that he would be stopped if he tried to administer the Catholic woman the sacrament.

In a statement to the press, Michael Schiavo’s attorney, George Felos stated that the reason for this was that he didn’t want “anyone to do something that would cause Terri distress”.

Demonstrators will be convening at Hospice Woodside at 10.00am on Sunday. At that time, there will also be Sunday Worship in Terri’s name.

If you would like to attend, Hospice Woodside is located at 6770 102nd Avenue North in Pinellas Park, Florida."

We may be getting conflicting info, and I don't know why that is. Phenn is the official media relations person for the family.

No but everyone must act fast to get to the hospice and also like you to spread info on contacting Jeb Bush, President George Bush, and other reps. etc. in a geometrical progression. I'll post my vigil account.

Death row inmates introduce "new" evidence in an effort to stall.

There are understandable reasons for the rules about when evidence must be introduced, but these rules can sometimes be abused by people who withhold evidence until it will no longer do any good (as is alleged to have happened with some of Terri's medical records in the extant case). Perhaps there needs to be some sort of adjustment to the rules?

People are going to have to stand up over there like we did at Klamath to get officials to step back and correct this.

Unfortunately, the politcal cost has to be made too high for them to allow the current course to continue before they will do what is right.

That's what it took in Klamath, and I am afraid that it what it is going to take there.

Don Joe, I hope you are emailing Bush with all these comments.

I gave up on contacting legislators a long time ago, after several object lessons in the futility of doing so. They don't read what you write or listen to what you say unles you're a "made man". I don't have that kind of money. I can't afford to buy representation.

So, I do what Reagan did. I go over their heads. I talk to the people -- the ones that vote.

If it is true,
THIS IS AMAZING NEWS. God has given us a sign, I truly believe.

If Terri received the Host, SHE IS ABLE TO SWALLOW. SHE IS NOT PVS.

Everybody needs to call, FAX, and Email the Governor IMMEDIATELY.

"Terri was able to receive Holy Communion. She can swallow, and is NOT COMATOSE.
Governor Bush, DO SOMETHING NOW TO RESCUE HER BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
It is ILLEGAL to kill a disabled person in Florida."

I don't know how to Ping everyone, being a newbie at FR.
Can someone get this news out? Is there any way to verify it?
