FREEPERS, I have taken a break from Terri's 24/7 Vigil to ask for your participation in the next phase of trying to save Terri's life while we wait for good news.

I have not received the Governor's Itinerary for the following week yet from myflorida.com.

We are asking Floridians and out-of-staters to freep the Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee.

If you need ideas for signs, it's basically urging Governor Bush to issue an executive order to stay Terri's starvation.

At this time, the Florida Supremes are reviewing filings today by Terri's counsel.

We need northern Florida to freep Jeb Bush STAT whether he's there or not.

Finally, if anyone receives Jeb's schedule in their e-newsletter, please post it here so we can hold Terri vigils in whatever town Jeb is in.

True enough. This is a STATE issue however, and I just don't see any valid reason for federal involvement. The ball is still in play in the state courts. It's Florida's mess, and they should be the ones to clean it up. If they can't, THEN, and only then, should Federal involvement come into play - and only if there is a legitimate constitutional reason for doing so.

But that's just me. I want to see this woman saved as much as anyone, but I won't sacrifice my liberties and freedoms, and everyone else's, to do so...

She has been in this state for over 10 years. Can't walk or talk, read, watch TV, eat or drink, go to the bathroom, somebody has to wipe her butt daily....would you like to linger in this state year after year?

Many people who are in such states recover when given rehabilitation therapy. Few people who are not given such therapy recover. Terri's Husband-In-Name-Only has actively blocked efforts to have Terri receive any treatment that might improve her condition. That she has not improved in ten years is not an indication that her condition was or is untreatable, but rather an indication that the [bleeper][bleeping][bleep] of a [bleep] who's trying to kill her has been trying to ensure she doesn't recover.

For seven years Michael, Terri's husband and court (Greer) appointed guardian has been in breach of fealty, by cohabiting with another woman (and now statutorily connected to her, so it's bigamy) and fathering children with another woman. He has been abusing Terri, as her guardian, by withholding therapy that was authorized in the lawsuit he undertook for malpractice. He has misappropriated her trust funds to pay a lawyer trying to have his ward put to death. I'd say there is ample weight of malfeasance to warrant investigating judge Greer and Michael Schiavo! THAT ought to be enough to authorize the chief law enforcement officer of the state of Florida to intervene and stop the execution until a full and thorough investigation is accomplished! Why? ... Because the ruling by Greer is irreversible if finished before an investigation.

No jorgy, she isn't as you claim. Even if she is, starving her to death is illegal and morally evil. If you WANT such an end, you'd better specify that in writing (she did not) to make certain your death wish is carried out. If not, I'll be there fighting for your life. BTW, people have fully recovered after years in a coma, what makes you believe you would not?

It does seem that the USA is not a "republic" except in the Pledge of Allegiance, where I think they also claim "liberty and justice for all." It really is a farce, isn't it? A Repubic No More, didn't Pat Buchanan write a book with that title? They say this used to be a free country, but I don't know when it ceased to be free.

No ,I agree with that. What I am angry about is that it apears that the judge denied testimony that Terri was NOT a vegetable, in a coma or in PVS. That the husband never said anything about Terri's wish to die in the malpractice suit and that had she recieved the proper care way back when she could be walking today. I am angry that Terri's death is based upon the testimony of her husband that she wants to die and that is what I suspect is amiss. I just think there is some way for JEb to find a loop hole and help save a woman, who,may have been murdered. I do not know the laws, but I trust The Thomas More Law center, and I beleive that is what they are saying as well.

So I don't understand how stepping in under those conditions would be bad to other people, or setting a bad precedent.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Except I think I would attempt to have the older more fragile persons up front telling the cops, "We're taking her out of here right now. Arrest us if you would but think about your mother/sister being in her place before you act."
I'm betting there would be hesitation if not full ignorance of those present in at least half of the officers.

How so. What authority does the executive to disregard an order which is legal according to lawfully-established facts? [BTW, I'm fishing here for the answer that when the judiciary establishes some "facts" that are just plain wrong, as it has in the Schiavo case, rulings predicated upon those "facts" should not be acted upon.]

I care about America, and my family and many others - People like the poster I was addressing, however? No, I care little for people like that - doesn't mean I wouldn't defend her if her life were in danger, or support her right to say what she pleases etc. but as far as day-to-day interactions? No, I stopped caring about her opinions and such the minute she began namecalling.
