Local Doctor Plays Part in Schiavo Case

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- It was video of a moment between a daughter and mother that made up Dr. Jacob Green's mind.

"She turned to her mom, responded to mom in the room, there was no doubt this woman had minimal but definite cognizant function, she was not in a vegetative state," says Dr. Green.

Green is a neurologist. Studying the brain is what he does everyday.

About a year ago, he was asked by Terri Schiavo's parents for his opinion on whether or not their daughter was brain dead.

"She's alive....there's no question in my mind she is not brain dead."

Green sent his decision to the courts. He says he is shocked the courts have ruled there is no hope for Schiavo and allowed the only thing needed to keep her alive, her food tube, to be removed.

"I'll call it murder because what they're doing is taking away any chance," says Green.

For some, they say this is a chance to make sure it doesn't happen to them.

Or in Terri Schiavo's case, Dr. Green says, "This woman is not on a respirator, this woman has function, cutting her off is wrong, without question, it is the wrong thing to do."

It has been said on these threads that Terri never had her own lawyer, also required by law. Her 'guardian' had a lawyer, but Terri herself did not. Anyone know anything more about this?

This leads, IMO, to complicity at the very top. Where is GW? Where is John 'I will protect the rule of law' Ashcroft? Being flown by military helicopters to his $500,000 spread in Rappahannock County, which by the way is slated to be a part of their Wildlands Project?

Yes, this murder could be taking place anywhere. It just happens that it is in FL. We just had no idea of the rampant corruption in the whole Tampa Bay area -- virtually all institutions in at least that part of FL seem corrupted by big money interests.

I confess my ignorance in that area, Theodore. All I know is that corruption abounds in this case, and the only reason I can see that it is not stopped is because they ALL are parties to it. After 8 years of Clinton, this is what we get? It truly doesn't matter who we vote for. They choose the candiidates. Until that changes, and more importantly, until we turn our hearts back to God Almighty, this is only going to get much worse.

I called about an hour ago and was told that Jeb's legal team is aware of the legal opinions posted on the website.

I asked if my comments would be conveyed to the Governor and was assured that they would.

My basic argument was that JEB MUST ACT for moral & legal reasons. He is the only one who can save Terri and if he refuses to listen to the latest legal advice; he will be contributing to her 'judicial murder'.

I added that many voted for him because of his pro-life stance and that should he decide to run for the Senate or the Presidency....his lack of action would be remembered by pro-life voters.

FREEPERS: Our best hope of saving Terri is to keep calling JEB's office over & over again!
