Subject: The Senate Must Censure Senator Kennedy

Dear Senator McConnell,

Senator Edward Kennedy’s recent conduct on the floor of the United States Senate has been far, far worse than merely conduct unbecoming a United States Senator, thus the Senate, to preserve its own integrity, must vote to censure Senator Kennedy.

If Senator Kennedy’s recent series of comments had been made off the floor, he would surely be guilty of defamation. The floor of the U.S. Senate is not a shielded perch from which to defame the President of the United States. More pertinently, it is disgraceful for a United States Senator to stand on the floor of the United States Senate and issue “lie after lie after lie,” defaming the President of the United States without a shred of relevant, competent evidence, and with no consequence. For this, Senator Kennedy deserves the strongest reprimand the United States Senate can issue against a member. Senator is making a mockery out of the Senate. Even Senator McCarthy was censured for far less.

To preserve the integrity of the United States Senate and the sanctity of its chambers, the Senate must act immediately to censure Senator Kennedy.

Sincerely,

YOUR NAME

Remember how passionate the Republicans were in '95? They were beaten down and now seem to be just there marking time.

Hmmm. Republicans (beaten down) have the presidency, Senate, House, 27 governships including the four LARGEST states. hmmm

And yet they are unable to fight the Dems on important issues, like judges, like reforming Medicare and Social Security, etc.

Our power is our voice! Let's use it so that those yellow bellied checkered pants and hairsprayed blue bloods in the senate wearing the Elephant label hear it loud and proud.

Let's trumpet it like bull elephants.

Thanks for the ping.

I e-mailed Senator McConnell, as well as my two favorite senators - who always send me marvelous answers to my e-mails (do you catch the sarcasm here) - Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein.

Thank you, jmstein! Thanks for the ping, ohioWfan. Past time we started asking our elected reps to stand up for the troops and against our domestic enemies.

Pinging my list to hold a reckless US Senator accountable during war time.
