Petition to Censure Senator Kennedy

Subject: The Senate Must Censure Senator Kennedy
Dear Senator McConnell,
Senator Edward Kennedys recent conduct on the floor of the United States Senate has been far, far worse than merely conduct unbecoming a United States Senator, thus the Senate, to preserve its own integrity, must vote to censure Senator Kennedy.
If Senator Kennedys recent series of comments had been made off the floor, he would surely be guilty of defamation. The floor of the U.S. Senate is not a shielded perch from which to defame the President of the United States. More pertinently, it is disgraceful for a United States Senator to stand on the floor of the United States Senate and issue lie after lie after lie, defaming the President of the United States without a shred of relevant, competent evidence, and with no consequence. For this, Senator Kennedy deserves the strongest reprimand the United States Senate can issue against a member. Senator is making a mockery out of the Senate. Even Senator McCarthy was censured for far less.
To preserve the integrity of the United States Senate and the sanctity of its chambers, the Senate must act immediately to censure Senator Kennedy.
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME
YOUR ADDRESS

The Republican's better grow a back-bone over this issue. Tom Delay was torn apart in the media...by the media, for simply questioning the timing of Clinton's impeachment-eve bombing of Iraq. Maxine Waters attacked him calling him un-America and even some GOPs in the meeting reprimanded him. What pisses me off is the media's (un)reaction to this bloated bovine.
Whenever ANY Republican makes an outrageous comment, the first thing the media does is go around to all the leading Republicans and ask what their opinion was of the rant. They did it with Lott, they do it with Delay, Dan Burton, etc. And the media specifically does this to Republicans so they can attach the Republican Party to the remarks of one individuals comments. The media never does this with the Democrats. Instead of asking the 9 dwarfs of what they think of Kennedy's diatribe, they pretend it didn't happen. By doing this the media helps to disassociate that Democrat from the rest of the Party. Kennedy had nothing to lose with his diatribe and the media will immunize the rest of the party by not questioning other Democrats about it.

Exactly... and a motion to Censure will bring attention to the remarks that he does not want... and it drags the media, kicking and screaming, to cover the remarks... and it forces it as an issue the DemonRats in the primary must answer -- i.e. they will be forced to remark on the comments.

Yes! Where are the Pubbies standing up in front of the cameras calling this what it is? TREASON, TRAITOROUS, and demoralizing to our troops? I am just furious about this.
Do we have to do all of this ourselves? What the heck is the matter with the republicans in the Senate? Don't they know they have the majority?

If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]

Breaking:
"Ted Kennedy acknowledges his statement regarding Iraq and Bush's lies was written by 50 Cent, who took a quick break to help out when he met the Senator at a local bar briefly after celebrating his music award. The Senator consulted the rapper after they developed a 'lifelong rapport', according to the Senator, based on hundreds of jello shots at a local white elite, yet bilingual, and completely diverse transgender hip-hop bar. "I wanted it to be edgy, yet instantly forgettable, with my trademark of hypocrisy, while highlighting liberal cliches mixed with failed sound bites, a little bit of anger. I tried to tone down the alcohol-fueled bulls*it but let's see how the hangover goes. I think we did that," said the glowing, bloated Senator. Developing.
