As I posted last evening:
Just over an hour ago there was a call to a local radio talk show program (Seattle, AM 570 KVI, The John Carlson Show) from a man whose 8-year-old son spent six weeks in what the doctors called a "primitive vegetative" state. (Cause, if I remember right, was a horse kick to the head that severed the son's brain's hemispheres.)
The father said that his son Joseph, when he recovered, was able to relate how they turned the TV on to his favourite programs (inclusing the Smurfs) so he could watch, and Joseph recalled all his visitors from his church during that time he was supposedly brain-dead.
The kicker came when Joseph, now approximately 24, came on the air. You could hear the slowness and hesitation of his speech -- but as his father had pointed out, the doctors had essentially written him off, said he wouldn't talk again (the speech centers were cut off), walk again.. or do much of anything again.
Early on in the interview Joseph said it was his church's prayers that brought him back out.
Joseph is now apparently in college (in Texas?), living on his own, with (as his father says) a real girlfriend, types 30 WPM (compensation for the speech?), lifting weights...
And Joseph says that Terri should be kept alive.
John Carlson remarked that this was one of the most.. important.. calls in his 10 years on the air. I'm fishing for the right word too, but I quite agree. This interview needs to be heard around the country!
I've sent an e-mail asking if KVI would post it.

"
You never know how the power of the power of positive thinking will play out. It gathers its own energy. It may not save Terri but perhaps the next victim will be spared."
Okay, for the sake of argument, how much money are you willing to pay towards her hospital bills?
If that question is not to your liking, just who shall be responsible for maintaining her?
Perhaps I am missing something here, and I don't mean to sound cruel and uncaring, but has the rule of law not been followed?
Seems to me we are a nation of laws.
Perhaps not. Perhaps we are a nation who are ruled by feelings.

Thanks for your info, Julie !:
Please call 1-800-GGLiddy
Liddy is getting out information that has been ignored by the rest of the media.....concerning the husband's possible motive.
Also the discussion has brought out that the husband blocked a swallowing test for Terri.
Liddy said "He clearly wants her dead!"
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Florida ping list!. . .don't be shy.

The response has been so great that Liddy will keep taking them instead of his 'news format'.
Caller asks: Who is looking out for Terr's interest? What does this say about our society? That her husband has spent over $600,000 to get her dead.
Caller says she wants to move to FL but this has disgusted her.

Thanks for doing the mega-ping!
Liddy asks: Where are all the right to lifers?
Caller has great empathy with Terri's parents. Says her husband doesn't care like a parent.
Liddy adds ...especially if he's living with a paramour.

Let's go on to things we may be able to do something about, like the 43,000 people who die in the U.S. each year from automobile accidents, or the 14,175 (2001) persons who died from aids/hiv. You think you have some control over that? LOL!
You say we have no control in this situation. I say we more control over this situation then we do of the statistics you just cited.

Was that Freeper you?
Discussion now on 'vegetative state' but Liddy saya that has not been established in Terri's case.
So many calls & another guest coming on so he asks for

Your question was very important.
"How did we, as a nation, get to this point?"
Liddy then connected the loss of respect for life to the 'Roe v Wade' decision. He said that we are going the way of the Netherlands....mercy killing....what is next....killing off the disabled, the elderly.
That slippery slope is being crossed with Terri's death sentence.....that it the most important message I heard from all the calls this morning!
So glad you got through.
Earlier Liddy also said that he believes that JEB is doing all he can and really wants to save Terri.
I am aware that some would not agree with Liddy's comment on JEB but I felt I should report it as he said it.

I sure miss hearing him in our local area - greater Louisville. He was on in this area all 4 hours a few years back - but he's nowhere on the dial around here anymore.
I really miss listening to him. I even went to see him when he came to Louisville - and of course, got an autographed, photograph. :)

Thanks Julie. It was worth the wait. Yet I believe that legalized murder started long before the courts pushed it through--with the lack of respect for human life. That has been an element among us since time began. I doubt that we will be able to un-do this man-made law. But think of the protection that animals have gotten in the courts. Don't humans deserve better, as the "highest" species? We have the ability to reason, not to just respond instinctively, like animals. To show lack of respect for life...I just can't see how we've become so calloused.

On board? Right to life?
Oh ...... how silly of me. And here I thought it was about a "rotten" husband, "loving" parents, and a "rush" to kill a comatose woman.
I said what I thought of the sad situation, and will let others do, and feel as they will.

Liddy really brought out information about Terri's husband that I've not heard discussed before in the media. I'm so glad he got such a huge phone response.
Let's email him to keep talking about Terri!

Another thought...
Can we get some Disability Advocates to bring a federal case that Terr's civil rights have been violated as there was never (as far as I know) anyone representing her interests in all those legal cases?

Had you been alive at the time, would you have turned in runaway slaves? Would you have supported the prosecution of Rosa PArks for sitting at the front of the bus?
