Post responses on this thread. Do or die for the Marlins. Break the Curse and Go to the Series or sink into ignominy for yet another year for the Cubbies.
Which will it be? Quien es mas macho?

She's hoping for a Boston/Chicago series. It ain't gonna happen. Cubbies are now out of it, and Sox game is still up in the air.

You gotta lift Bako for a pinch hitter and play for the win right here. I know he's the catcher and Miller's gone.

Jubilation: The Marlins win...going to the World Series

Dusty has still done a great job with the Cubs. This team lost 95 games last year. He may not have handled the pitching staff so wonderfully in the playoffs, but the bullpen is pitching poorly the whole series. He has not much to work with past Remlinger and Farnsworth. The rest of the bullpen - Veres, Alfonseca, and Guthrie are not major league pitchers. The Cubs made a mistake in leaving Estes off the playoff roster as he has pitched his best game of the year against Cincinnati the last week of the season. They could have used him in the bullpen like the Marlins used Pavano.
The Cubs are going to contend for the next few years if their core pitchers stay healthy. Management has already committed to spend more money next year

Yeah, that was Bethel. I graduated from there in 1982.
I bookmarked SGM and hope to look at it tomorrow. Thanks for those two links.
WGN faded on me just in time so I didn't have to hear the final out. Nuts to the Cubbies!
