Pray for the families of the Americans killed in Israel. I worked for Dyncor and have many friends that still do including my brother. Three employees killed by bomb. No one claims responsibility yet. How do you spell Hamas??

HELLO, Canteeners and fellow FReepers! LC here, checking back in after a 3-week detachement to the Mediterranean Op-area, where elements of VP-10 (my squadron) participated in operation ENDURING FREEDOM and also aided operations in Kosovo. We were (and are) bolstering the PELICANS of VP-45 in their efforts, and our P-3 ORIONs were used to their fullest, as were we.

Some missions were quite nerve-wracking and scary, and some lasted over 16 hours, but we did it all with our usual enthusiasm and good cheer. As for specifics, well, the President said some battles in this war would remain in the shadows, and so they shall. All our crews are safe and sound as of this writing, however, although life was made miserable for some deserving individuals.

I am currently back up in Iceland, although the scuttlebutt has us moving back to the Med at some point. Mrs. Cut and Mini-Cut are still healthy and holding down the homefront nicely, although we obviously all miss each other terribly. She is about the best in a woman and mother a man could ask for, and she does an outstanding job at a task which seems far more difficult than mine.

Mini-Cut has now celebrated his 3-month birthday, and has also doubled his birth weight. In every picture I get, his precious face is wearing a joyful, happy smile, and this inspires me in ways I never thought possible. God, I love that little guy.

Beagle-Cut is also doing well, being now heartworm-free, although he is getting "THAT" operation this week, so I hope he's not too depressed. Hopefully, our male cat will stop trying to kill him. The female uses him for a cushoin.

I do hope everyone of you is doing well, yourselves, and that "the home front" is as well. I miss my home very much, and America, the land is never far from my thoughts. Thank you ALL once again for your unwavering support. We all appreciate it, and we all hope to be home soon.

Being a First Sergeant/Senior Chief equivilant I lived like a king. Thanks again for your service and stay warm and dry.

Thanks, Hondo. VP-10 is indeed homeported at Brunswick NAS, although we are deployed to many different places at this time. Aside from Keflavik here in Iceland, we have elements in the Med, both in Sigonella and Crete, as well as detachements to the Carribbean Op-area.

Good morning Tomkow!! Hope your day is a great one!!

That was the best duty I ever had. No one knew who we were or what we did. They treated us like kings. We finished work every day by three and could get in at least 27 holes of golf every day. It was only $40 for a monthly membership at the base golf course. What a life. We had it made.

I have an uncle from Bath so this old Alabama country boy even got home cooking while there. I never did master the cold though, even after spending many years in it I'd still rather have the heat and humidity of south Alabama.
