24-hour Vigil Planned for Terri SchiavoFounder of Operation Rescue Joins the Vigil
Randall Terry

Posted on 10/13/2003 4:24:11 AM PDT by amdgmary

On Monday, Oct 13, at noon, family and friends of Terri Schindler-Schiavo will begin a round-the-clock vigil on at Woodside Hospice located at 6774 102nd Ave N, Pinellas Park (66th St N & 102nd Ave).

Terri is scheduled to have her feeding tube removed on Wednesday, Oct 15, at 2:00 pm. A policeman will be posted at Terri's door at the hospice in order to keep the parents out. Michael Schiavo, the husband, has ordered that the does not want family and friends near Terri.

Please join us at Woodside Hospice anytime - day or night - calling on Governor Jeb Bush to use his executive power to save Terri's life. Your presence will be welcomed for any length of time.

Please contact Gov. Jeb Bush and ask him to save Terri's life. He has the power to do so. Gov. Bush's e-mail is Jeb.Bush@MyFlorida.com and fl_governor@eog.state.fl.us. His phone number is 850-488-7146.

Randall Terry would like as many people as possible to call or send an e-mail to Gov. Bush. If you do call or send a message, please thank him for acting as "amicus curiae" (friend of the court) on behalf of Terri.

Terri is disabled, but she is not in a coma or in a persistant vegetative state. She is fully aware of her surroundings and responds to people around her. She laughs and smiles when her parents visit her. Last night, her parents told me that she says "yes", "no", "hello." This may not sound like much, but it shows that Terri is not in a coma as her husband claims. Terri also told her parents that she does not want to be starved to death.

Randall Terry of Operation Rescue will hold a press conference at noon on Monday, Oct 13th. He will also have a press conference on Tueday at noon and Wednesday at 2:00 pm. If you live in the Tampa Bay area, please join us for the vigil.

It is inconceivable that a judge has ordered the death of an innocent woman. We need to do everything in our power to help Terri.

Thank you for your support!

Will some Bush supporter please explain why he is so hesitant to help Terri when he calls himself "prolife"?

Please, Bush supporters, I am still waiting for an answer. I can think of no sensible answer to this question. Could Bush not even know that he has the power to stop this dehydration/starvation?

Surely Bush does not believe that Michael Schiavo, who verbally attacked him last month, is legitimate when he says that Terri wants to die.

Jeb Bush has no authority to intervene. None.

What is the source for Bush having no authority to intervene?

That's what I thought too until others began saying over the weekend that he could intervene. Then I was unsure.

He can pardon a murderer but not stop the execution of a disabled person through the removal of a feeding tube.

Randall Terry is saying emphatically that Jeb Bush has the power to prevent his starvation/dehydration. Could he be wrong?

You mean the Randall Terry who dumped his wife and kids for a younger woman four years ago, and was DENOUNCED by his church?

If Terry tells you the sky is blue, run outside and check.

What is the source for Bush having no authority to intervene?

What law authorizes him to countermand a judge?

Those who say he he has some magical authority to intervene are engaged in wishful thinking.

Why do you think Randall Terry says Bush can intervene if he cannot? I wonder how Terry got the misinformation. I understand that he is now a FL resident. It will be interesting to see if Terry tells Hannity and Colmes that Bush CAN intervene.

I do think there is a law that the FL governor can suspend a judge for malfeasance. So he could declare George W. Greer malfeasant (is that a word?) for many, many reasons. But I don't think he will act.

I ask you again: what gives Bush the authority to overrule a judge?

Although I, like you, consider this to be, effectively, an execution, it is not, in law.

Blame Michael Schiavo for this, not Jeb Bush. Perhaps Florida law needs to be updated to stop this kind of thing in the future.

I do think there is a law that the FL governor can suspend a judge for malfeasance.

Fine, explain EXACTLY where this law is applicable, without making a self-referential argument (i.e., no arguing that "he's guilty of malfeasance because he didn't rule the way that I want him to").

To your post #10 My feelings exactly!!! As a parent, I can not imagine not being beside my child when the Lord takes her Home. I would not want to live in a persistent vegetive state, so I can see both sides, however, there is something very dark and ugly surrounding the husband. I suspect he will roast in Hell for his attitude toward her parents, afterall, they gave her life - they should be there when she dies.

Please call Governor Bush 1-850-488-4441 who recently filed an Amicus Brief with the courts and is sympathetic to Terri's cause, asking him to directly intervene. He has the full authority to request that the Department of Children and Families conduct a full investigation into whether she is receiving adequate care and rehabilitation, which of course she is not. Based on that, DCF could remove her husband as legal guardian and request .a guardian et litem to be appointed. Please FLOOD his office with calls!

Can Terri be saved by the attorney general of the USA by sending in the same group of troopers who sent Elian Gonzoles back to Cuba?

Yes, but, this attorney general believes in the "rule of law," even when it is as usual "liberal law." So we will get no relief, I am afraid.

I cannot imagine what all the Schindlers have been through. They should get the JFK Courage Award.

We don't have time in a quick post to review all the misdeeds of George W. Greer. It's been posted through a total of some what 8,000 posts in the past three months. For one thing, he has never even seen "his ward." He has allowed rehabilitation funds to be used for legal expenses. He has refused to permit "feeding lessons." He allows the guardian to keep her room at 64 degrees. He allows the guardian to forbade brushing the teeth of the ward. He severely restricts the family's visitation. He has put her in a hospice for three years, and she is not terminal without this action by the State of FL. The list is simply endless.

The x'ers are all busy bragging on another thread about how they're going to kill their boomer parents. Too many liberals in the republican party these days.

Translation: you don't have any real misdeeds to report, merely the fact that you dislike his rulings.

I cannot imagine what all the Schindlers have been through.

They must be frantic; I know I would be. This will take a terrible toll on the remainder of their lives.

Can't someone go in and rescue Terri and sort out the legalities later?
