24-hour Vigil Planned for Terri SchiavoFounder of Operation Rescue Joins the Vigil
Randall Terry

Posted on 10/13/2003 4:24:11 AM PDT by amdgmary

On Monday, Oct 13, at noon, family and friends of Terri Schindler-Schiavo will begin a round-the-clock vigil on at Woodside Hospice located at 6774 102nd Ave N, Pinellas Park (66th St N & 102nd Ave).

Terri is scheduled to have her feeding tube removed on Wednesday, Oct 15, at 2:00 pm. A policeman will be posted at Terri's door at the hospice in order to keep the parents out. Michael Schiavo, the husband, has ordered that the does not want family and friends near Terri.

Please join us at Woodside Hospice anytime - day or night - calling on Governor Jeb Bush to use his executive power to save Terri's life. Your presence will be welcomed for any length of time.

Please contact Gov. Jeb Bush and ask him to save Terri's life. He has the power to do so. Gov. Bush's e-mail is Jeb.Bush@MyFlorida.com and fl_governor@eog.state.fl.us. His phone number is 850-488-7146.

Randall Terry would like as many people as possible to call or send an e-mail to Gov. Bush. If you do call or send a message, please thank him for acting as "amicus curiae" (friend of the court) on behalf of Terri.

Terri is disabled, but she is not in a coma or in a persistant vegetative state. She is fully aware of her surroundings and responds to people around her. She laughs and smiles when her parents visit her. Last night, her parents told me that she says "yes", "no", "hello." This may not sound like much, but it shows that Terri is not in a coma as her husband claims. Terri also told her parents that she does not want to be starved to death.

Randall Terry of Operation Rescue will hold a press conference at noon on Monday, Oct 13th. He will also have a press conference on Tueday at noon and Wednesday at 2:00 pm. If you live in the Tampa Bay area, please join us for the vigil.

It is inconceivable that a judge has ordered the death of an innocent woman. We need to do everything in our power to help Terri.

Thank you for your support!

another thing, Lakey,

Notice this as well:

(2) Admission to a hospice program shall be made upon a diagnosis and prognosis of terminal illness by a physician licensed pursuant to chapter 458 or chapter 459 and shall be dependent on the expressed request and informed consent of the patient.

If Terri is 'PVS', how could there be 'expressed request and informed consent'

Heavenly Father, we so anxiously await word about Terri ... "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God ... and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" ... Philippians 4:6-7

Thank You, Lord, for the calmness of Your word ... in quietness we now wait ... speak to us, O Lord. Speak to us of victory for the life of Terri Schiavo ... may it be thus, for this is our earnest prayer, in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord, Amen ...

Starvation of Terri Schiavo is the Future of Hospice FOREST PARK, IL: Disability activists are saying the impending starvation of a brain-injured woman in a Florida hospice confirms their worst fears about "end of life" advocacy. Representatives of Not Dead Yet, a national disability rights group opposed to legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia, claim that the impending starvation of Terri Schiavo is both the tip of the iceberg and a sign of what's to come.

"Terri Schiavo is going to be killed in the hands of a hospice facility operated by the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast," says Stephen Drake, research analyst for Not Dead Yet. "This organization is one of the regional 'Rallying Points' of Last Acts, a mega-funded project which coordinates 'end of life' advocacy around the United States. The CEO of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast is on the board of directors of Partnership for Caring, the organization that coordinates funding for the 'Rallying Points.' Both organizations have received some of the estimated 150 million dollars the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has invested in 'end of life' concerns."

Drake also notes that George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, was chair of the board of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast until he took Michael Schiavo on as a client. Since then, Felos has reportedly pocketed most of the $700,000 awarded for Terri's medical care in legal fees to end her life.

Earlier this summer, Not Dead Yet and over 40 disability organizations locked horns with Partnership for Caring, Last Acts and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. They charged that the coalition was actively conflating "terminal illness" with "disability" and promoting statutes that weaken legal protections for people like Terri Schiavo. He wonders to what extent the starvation of Terri Schiavo is a "Robert Wood Johnson - funded project."

Diane Coleman, president of Not Dead Yet, is concerned over the recent increase in legal efforts to make it easier to end the lives of people with brain injury, alzheimer's and mental retardation.

"Two weeks ago, the New York Times ran an article on the German Program of 'mercy killings' that resulted in the extermination of some 200,000 people with disabilities. The actual medical records indicated either a 'natural death' or a 'mercy killing' for the victim, many of whom were starved to death. But we all recognize now that the killings were based on a rationale that some lives were 'unworthy of life.' It has scary similarities to what we see happening now in the United States."

Coleman adds that hospice has already strayed from its traditional meaning. She fears the final body count of nonterminally ill disabled people starved in hospice could exceed anything done by the Germans in their "mercy killing" program.

I LOVE the people at this website:

White Collar Crime Hurts Real People!

by Ron Panzer, June 20, 2003

Susan Wynn committed the white-collar crime of embezzlement, taking other people's money and making their money her own. She did this over a period of about four years ... day after day, over and over again, pre-mediated, planned, well-thought out and made efforts to conceal everything she was doing. This happened back in Georgia, from 1991 to 1995 when she got caught. It wasn't a crime of "passion" to "feed her starving children" or something like that.

It was a way to get a lot of things she WANTED, things like diamonds, cars, houses, money, clothes. And she chose to do that. And she knew it was wrong. She did it because she thought she could get away with it. In fact, it was just fine with Susan Wynn that she was getting other people's money illegally, just so long as she didn't get caught! A LOT of people got hurt when Susan Wynn stole (embezzled) from the Chatham Area Transit Authority.

Do I feel sorry for Susan Wynn? Absolutely not! In fact, she got off incredibly lightly for all the crimes she did! Sorry? No. Is her privacy violated when those who could be harmed by her are informed about her criminal history? No. It was public information! As public as you can get: FRONT PAGE NEWS Mr. Bell!

Should criminals get a chance to "make a life" for themselves after they get out of jail? Sure. Just don't give a convicted embezzler a job in the finance department where MILLIONS of dollars in donations are handled! Just don't give a convicted embezzler a job where she has access to all the employees' social security numbers and other private information. And Mike Bell says she's a victim since her PUBLIC conviction for a severe felony was revealed after the hospice decided to NOT tell employees who should have known the truth.

The other employees had a right to know who was handling their information. The public in Pinellas County has a right to know who is working in the department that handles their donations. Mike Bell. Mary Labyak. Your actions, your judgment, your decisions ... they're just unbelievable!

the following is from FreeAdvice.Com

****** What is White Collar Crime?

"White collar crimes typically refer to a type of crime committed by business people, entrepreneurs, PUBLIC OFFICIALS, and professionals through deception .... Examples of white-collar crimes include embezzlement, bribery, extortion, larceny, FRAUD (e.g., HEALTH CARE, tax), bankruptcy, telemarketing, insurance, and mail, securities and commodities law violations, environmental law violations, price fixing, racketeering, loan sharking, black market operations, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE AND PERJURY, and computer fraud."

****** "Depending on whether federal or state law has been violated, white collar crimes can be prosecuted at the federal or state level. Penalties vary, but in some cases can result in large fines, restitution, and jail time."l; *******

****** What is Embezzlement?

"Embezzlement is defined as "the fraudulent conversion of property of another by a person in lawful possession of that property". Crimes of this nature generally have involved a relationship of trust and confidence, such as an agent, fiduciary, trustee, treasurer, or attorney."

What is the Difference Between Larceny and Embezzlement?
"The major difference between larceny and embezzlement is the way in which the property changes hands. With larceny, the property is carried away; it was never in the possession of the perpetrator. With embezzlement, however, the perpetrator has lawfully possessed the property, but then has converted it into his/her own property."

"The following example illustrates the difference. A man walks onto a construction site and takes a hammer and goes home. He has committed larceny, because he has taken someone else’s property away, with the intent never to return it. A construction worker on that same site, who uses the hammer every day, puts it in his pocket at the end of the day and takes it home. He has committed embezzlement, because it was in his possession to use while he worked on the site, but when he took it off the site, he converted it into his own property."

Questions About the Hospice and $uncoast $olutions
And Embezzlement
Embezzlement, as we have seen, is taking money or property that you normally handle (but do not own personally) at work, for example, and convert it from being property of someone else (or a business) and make it your own illegally.

My question is this: if people donate to the hospice believing that the money is donated to the hospice for charitable purposes and direct services to the patients, and then people/administrators at the hospice take that money and transfer it to the for-profit subsidiary $uncoast $olutions, and then pay themselves a ton of money at the for-profit (with the money that was donated to the NON-PROFIT for patient services), is that embezzlement? It's kind of tricky. I'm not an attorney. It's confusing. Perhaps only an IRS agent would know, or a criminal law attorney. Maybe all of what is going on at the hospice is legal, maybe. Maybe not. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what those who know about these things have to say!

Just thinking out loud: .... Having a for-profit subsidiary is not wrong. Paying oneself a salary is not wrong. Receiving charitable donations is not wrong. But taking charitable donations and not using them for the purpose that people donated for, ... that really seems wrong. And paying oneself big bucks out of the money from donations, that also seems wrong. Is that embezzlement? I don't know.

All I know is that something is very wrong in how donations are being shunted over from the nonprofit to the for-profit without informing the public that their donations are going into the pockets of employees and administrators at the software company. And the financial statements show that several MILLION dollars of money from the nonprofit hospice went to the for-profit software company (The St. Petersburg Times quoted Mary Labyak as confirming that charitable donations went to the for-profit!]. Does that seem right to you?

Was the decision to hire convicted embezzler Wynn a "stupid" thing for the hospice to do? I guess it depends upon what the goal was. Was the goal to preserve the image of the hospice as a place of integrity? If so, then it was stupid. Was the goal to make sure everything in the finance department went according to the law? If so, it would have been very foolish. If the goal was something else, then it might not have been "stupid." It is possible the hospice wanted Wynn to work in the finance department, ... that it was a knowing intentional act.

Bell admits that the hospice knew about Wynn's criminal history before hiring her. Wynn has substantial expertise and experience! The hospice acquired Wynn's expertise and information when it chose to hire Wynn. Why would a hospice want that type of "expertise" and "experience?" Mike Bell, Mary Labyak: do you have an answer for that?

What is a vulture? It's a scavenger bird that feeds off the dying or dead. If someone takes money that should be going to services for the dying, that sounds like what a vulture would do. It just doesn't seem right that employees' donations meant for services to the dying are going into the pockets of those who are paid so well over at $uncoast $olutions. If I were an employee of this hospice and had donated to the nonprofit, I'd be steaming mad.

I would do something about it. The employees and the public should be grateful that the plaintiff, Ms. Cazalas, after trying unsuccessfully for years to get the hospice to comply with the laws, finally came forward as a whistleblower and revealed what is going on at the hospice. The can of worms just seems to get bigger and bigger! "

MarMema, is the world watching this? I have been too busy to notice - Are you aware if the world is watching this case? How must we look to the world, declaring our right to pursue 'terrorists' around the world, when we allow terrorists to operate unhindered against the most defenseless in our society, in the very places that were supposedly created to care for them. And do it in the presence of the ones who love them, and want nothing from these terrorists except to be left alone to care for the one they love. And do it even though the citizens of this nation are abhorent of their actions. And they do it under color of 'the rule of law'. The truth is, this is not 'law', this is LAWLESSNESS of the highest order.

Napolitano always seemed so sure about what he said. Now I know why. He's a flaming BS'er.

His aura of self-confidence, as he mis-described Terri's condition, told me all I need to know about him.

He doesn't bother to check facts and he doesn't deserve an audience.

Yes, Ethan, Republicans are always talking about the "rule of law." So often when our party leaders use this expression, it is truly a copout, just an excuse to do nothing. Maybe our GOP is just lazy. Maybe it is as "insensitive" to the downtrodden (Who could be more downtrodden than Terri Schiavo?) as the Democrats have long claimed. Of course, we would have expected nothing at all from a Democrat administration on this issue.

Sean Hannity keeps saying that this is a "weird" case. He cannot bring himself to use the word "evil" in this context, but he calls terrorists "evil" all the time.

Heavenly Father, we are sickened by the action of the court today ... dear Terri has been denied any rehabilitative therapy and she has been denied any estrangement from her husband, the one who wishes her dead. Her attorneys say they have gone the distance ... perhaps they have, dear Father, but nothing is beyond You.

We now see glimpses beyond the benign concept of hospice ... we see a cult of death developing that is coming to take those whose lives are less than perfect. How You must laugh in derision over this concept, because none is righteous, no not one ... only You, dear Father, are Righteous Perfection. By the power of the Holy Spirit, enable us to meet this challenge with the full force of God Almighty, to turn back this evil that is spreading across our land. Do not let Terri be swallowed up in this madness, but provide for her, that she might be delivered.

Time is short, but You are the author of time ... throw back the clock on those who participate in this that they might know that they, too, are subject to the same clock as the rest of mankind ... that they face age and disability and infirmity ... and eternity without You. Save them from themselves, Father ... may one or two or three or multitudes escape this cancer ... let caring people refuse to participate in court-sanction murder. Let the good within our court system cry out for change. Let the people demand that goodness return ... that judges are just ... that those in authority over us seek to govern righteously.

But this cannot be without a return to You ... we cannot be One Nation Under God if You are not allowed into our schools or our courts or on our streets. We are a people most impoverished ... and we have come to know it ... and we come to You in repentance and looking for mercy, Your unmerited favor on us, such is Your love. Father, may Terri's portion still be life ... only You can deem it so ... please let it be, in the name of Jesus, Amen ...
