Even before Tuesday’s elections, many progressives insisted the question of whether protecting abortion rights wins elections was already asked and answered. Democrats made abortion rights the centerpiece of their campaign advertising during the 2022 midterms, a cycle where Democrats outperformed expectations, kept control of the US Senate, and staved off a red wave. Polls last year also found abortion rights to be a significantly motivating issue for both independent and Democratic voters.
Abortion rights ballot measures won in all six states where they appeared in 2022, including states like Montana, Kentucky, and Kansas that otherwise elected Republican candidates.

I think only if there is a complete ban are “most women single issue voters”...most women do not want late term abortions
It is very wrong to abort a fetus. But should principles be abandoned for sake of winning elections? Only problem I have is pro-life agenda will not get a boost by losing elections. It is a serious conundrum.
If that were true Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections.
BTW, I know a lot of pro-choice women.
Not one of them supports legalizing infanticide.
Very true. Unfortunately, it’s not just liberal women, but I would say that it’s mostly women that have never had children, just a guess on my part, but they are adamant about this issue and think Republicans are just horrible for trying to take the choice away. It never occurs to them to argue and promote using birth control, abstaining and all the things that you can do to not be put in this situation. They are really brainwashed on this one.
You are absolutely correct!
Right. And SCOTUS threw it back to the states because there is no role for the federal government in the abortion debate. So just as allowing unlimited abortion at the federal level, a federal BAN would also be unconstitutional. Republicans need to stop falling into this trap.
Any Christian Republican who backs down will hear these words. “I never knew you.” I don’t care what happens. You have to look at the long day.
It is SO EASY to just change the narrative to WHY IN THE HELL are abortions being used as birth control WHEN there are an ABUNDANCE of forms of birth control FREE to anyone who needs it, WHY are babies being killed in the womb, RIGHT BEFORE birth, when there is NO REASON for it TODAY!! Women back in the day did NOT HAVE all of these options available to them as they do today!!!
The problem is that the RNC did not counter any of those lying ads about abortion. The 12 yr. old girl that was illegally raped by her step father could still seek an abortion, just not in her state. Abortion is legal in the USA...per SCOTUS ruling, but the RNC says ziltch, nada, nulla.
Something tells me you would fail if God decided to test you. Winning an election isn’t worth losing your salvation over.
I would agree, my wife and I have three children, but she always tells me “it’s my right to choose.” I counter with “what right to choose life does the baby have?” We are both Christian and Catholics. It’s a conundrum.
It wasn’t all, or even mostly, election fraud. I have met LOTS of suburban women who are as adamant about keeping abortion rights as I am about gun rights. You ignore them at your peril.
Here’s the facts of life: we can successfully ban third trimester abortion. Attempting to ban first trimester abortions will just result in the election of Democrats who will then make abortion a sacrament. Stop ignoring reality.
Republican prolifers aren’t suger coating anything. They know that they are in the minority and that the road will be long. But they are prepared to fight indefinitely — until the sleep-arounds who kill their babies for birth control depopulate themselves. If the gsys can fight indefinitely, so can we. And there are many other issues by which Republicans can win.
I didn’t say all women now did I? All there needs to be is enough to change an election.
“WHY are babies being killed in the womb, RIGHT BEFORE birth?”
A likely reason is the mom broke up with the dad and didn’t want to be a single mom.
It’s not just that. It’s overwhelming special interest money pushing lies about all out bans that are racking up the votes. The messaging is all coming from the far left and scaring people. If you put a ballot to do a full ban, a 15 week limit, or the language in Ohio this week of no limits up to birth the 15 week would be the consensus based on public opinion.
Democrats: The narrative needs to be about abortion.
A likely reason is the mom broke up with the dad and didn’t want to be a single mom.
Right before birth? Go to term/near-term and give the baby up for adoption. I also would think giving birth would be less risky to the mother than a late-term abortion.
It’s not about abortion.
Fraud denial again.
