Hours after Joe Biden announced his re-election campaign on Tuesday, his vice-president and 2024 running mate, Kamala Harris, delivered a fiery call to action for voters alarmed by the loss of constitutional protections for abortion.

“This is a moment for us to stand and fight,” she said to a packed auditorium at Howard University.....

DemocRats used the abortion issue in mid-terms to fizzle the red wave. Young women, who normally do not vote in large numbers, came out of the woodwork in much greater numbers to vote in mid-terms.

I also appreciate it when far left, postmodern, atheist, statist rags tell me what’s going on in the minds of Christians and conservatives.

The message should have been, Abortion is a State issue, end of story.

Then Miss Lindsey had to open her mouth.

Even if they don’t want an abortion now, they feel they should have the right to have an abortion.

It’s hard sometimes to debate the issues. Talk of federalism or 10th amendment issues goes over the heads of people who think of issues in terms of the “bumper sticker” sloganeering used on so many issues. Abortion issues being legislated by each state is something some people have a hard time understanding. Some people just can’t understand that the US has 50 states, and that there can be different laws on different issues.

Not to mention that would actually prevent abortions. The likely outcome at a federal level is a mandate that abortions must be done in every state.

Here in a fairly conservative suburb north of Austin, we have a neighbor who has had her pro-leftist political signs in their yard each season for the past three years. We've also mistakenly received her mail from Planned Parenthood.

She's somewhere around 65. It isn't just young women who are rallying around the abortion issue, and not in the way many here would hope. Sigh.

Democrats campaign-— the economy sucks, everything is expensive, life sucks, crime is out of control, we want to raise taxes, keep borders open and take your property——But we’ll make sure you can kill and sexualize children.

Democrats go out and vote “Democrat”....because to them killing babies and sexualizing kids is a “right”.

Indeed, there was an effort, after Roe was overturned, to legislate abortion rights nationally, to “codify” Roe vs. Wade in federal law. That effort fizzled, but will certainly be revived, if Democrats gain control of both Houses of Congress in the future.

If killing babies is the most important issue for Americans than I don’t think America is worth saving.

Sadly it is important issue, even in states like red Kansas. just recently an initiative to restrict (not prohibit) abortions went down to defeat by a landslide. While all the GOP candidates won their elections.

The correct argument to overturn Roe was that the opinion was garbage and Article III did not confer the power to make stuff up.

There is not, and never was, a cogent argument that the Constitution guaranteed baby killing.

But, once the decision was overturned, it was inevitable that any candidate or party running on abolition would be crushed.

” GOP divided about abortion..”
~~~
Yes, of course they are divided. That would be the dependable RINO contingency of the UniParty.
That was done on purpose by Graham—if you’re looking at abortion, you aren’t looking at misadventures abroad (profitable to Graham).
"DemocRats used the abortion issue in mid-terms to fizzle the red wave [??? emphasis added]."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Even if patriots had won politically correct simple majorities in of both Houses in 2022, it remain that, because each House is about evenly divided because of the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties, Congress still wouldn't have the supermajorities needed to override Biden vetoes for example, impeaching and removing officials from office nearly impossible too.
On the other hand, although a gridlocked federal government was inevitable outcome of 2022 elections imo, Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters still got Pelosi out of power despite alleged vote-counting fraud. That's good enough evidence of red tsunami for me.
Sadly, corrupt media managed to discourage patriots on election night anyway, patriots now twice-fooled by the media, but not so badly the second time.
Republicans have always been divided on abortion. But the fact is that the GOP can not win without the pro-life vote.
They hate that, but it's 100% truth.
I will admit to being divided on abortion.
While I am against good Christian Americans getting abortions I am much more inclined to encourage liberals and anti-American minorities to kill their children if they so desire.
I don’t see why any liberals would have a problem with my view here.
I think the GOP should leave their personal feelings out of it.
The abortion issue is best left to the residents of each state. In a representative government it is the citizens who decide and select their representatives to cast votes that represent the voters who elected them.
This bitter old crone has likely always been a pro-abortion radical. The Dobbs decision didn't bring her to the polls. In my opinion, it didn't bring any actual new voters to the polls. It did, however, make those who support abortion willing to cheat their asses off even more than they had before.
When your moral code says that it's ok to kill babies, voter fraud seems like a comparatively small thing.
