The American republic is in grave danger. We have wandered far from the guiding principles that established our nation and preserved our way of life for more than two centuries. Because Texas was once a republic, its citizens have a unique perspective on the preciousness of independence and the sacrifices that secured our freedoms. We cherish this exceptional system of government and recognize the imminent threats that can destroy what our Founders called “the great experiment” known as the United States of America.
For America to endure, every generation must safeguard our constitutional republic and representative democracy from misguided public policies and the destructive attitudes and actions of its enemies, foreign and domestic. To that end, we, as patriotic Texans and Americans, hereby reaffirm the timeless truths for which millions of freedom-loving men and women have devoted their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to defend as the immutable core values that have made our country the city set upon a hill to the whole world.

I like LTC West but not sure why he is trying to get elected over another solid Republican.
IMHO, Abbott has been squishy. The special session would have had fewer topics if Abbott has used his bully pulpit right at the outset of the 87th session.
The Republicans have a majority and they need to act like it.
Enough of the politicians, I prefer some dedicated action.
...well I don’t know where you get your news but we have a barely repub Gov who tossed the State Constitution during ChiComFlu and then led the so called Repub Legislature to pass exactly ONE of a dozen Republican Party (grass roots convention voters) priorities last session. He is a disaster and loves to work with Dems to fuel his futile Presidential run..... ymmv

Our Governor has been a disappointment with COVID, illegal immigration and pro-life priorities. He’s only raising his voice now that he’s realized his re-election is not so sure.
I have to admit that West has a good message.
If he’d just stay somewhere long enough for it to take root.
Lord Abbott issued many harsh, unconstitutional edicts during the ‘Rona. He only looks conservative during the campaign season. Go, Col. West!

Abbott seems to be a slightly, very slightly, more Conservative version of Perry. Who should be held in contempt for doing everything he a nice to flood the state with liberals from Cali and other places. And for, more or less, doing nothing about illegals and giving them instate tuition.
Given the current crop of Republican Governors, most of whom are RINOs to the core…..Kemp, Hutchison to name two….it doesn’t take much to seem solidly Republican.
He’s already been the TX GOP Chairman. He didn’t move last week. Abbott has had his two terms as Governor and it’s time for a new face with a more Conservative record.
I think America already crossed the rubicon. Democrats cheated in the POTUS 2020 and the 2 run offs in Georgia. The cheat is in and we essentially will have a one party state and maybe 20% or less will even bother to vote. All these GOP movers and shakers are trying to repair the ship with a giant hole in its hull by defending voting security NOW. Where were they when Trump needed them in 2020?
