Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced legislation designed to rein in Big Tech censorship of Americans, telling such companies they’ll be getting “no more free passes.”
Rubio issued a statement to the Daily Caller in which he accused tech companies and social media platforms of having “openly interfered in our elections” and “baselessly” censored important topics.
The bill – dubbed the DISCOURSE Act (Disincentivizing Internet Service Censorship of Online Users and Restrictions on Speech and Expression) – would remove section 230 protections for Big Tech companies that use certain practices and hold them “accountable.”

Hat tip to Senator Marco Rubio.
DOA
WE’RE NOT A DEMOCRACY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Another idiot that doesn’t know we are/were a Republic.
Good, this is overdue.
Assistant Democrats adopt the words of their mentors.
I wish they would stop using “Our Democracy.” My hackles go up instantly whenever I see or hear it. Democracy is NOT a good thing.
CITIZENSHIP Democracy:
A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of “direct” expression. Results in mobocracy. Attitude toward property is communistic—negating property rights. Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether is be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences. Results in demogogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy
Portland has Democracy. So does Minneapolis. Sane people don’t want Democracy.
Since big tech (and big business in general) control most of our politicians and get government kickback /contracts they should be held to same standards regarding free speech as the US Government is. They are functionally the government at this point.
Marco if you ever want us to take you seriously, you have got referring to us as a “democracy”.
We are a Republic. A Constitutional Republic.
Look it up.
It’s a re-election gambit to make people think he’s doing something. (and to make them forget his amnesty vote)
He knows this is going nowhere as long as Pelosi is Speaker.
Got to STOP referring…
He still doesn’t understand the Pledge of Allegiance.
The current state of this mess was seen by a few of us ‘early desktop computer nerds’ when the traitorous Bill Gates and his “MSDOS” became THE federal government contractual operating system installed on ALL federal office desktop machines.
Then, later, the same thing again, with “Google”, getting the federal wink and nod.
When Instagram started “editing viewers’ content” in relation to more than one topic, THAT is when “wolf” should have been cried!!
I believe ALL those companies are owned by closet Marxists.
It will never get out of the House and probably fail in the Senate.
Linda and Rubio is running for President.

Doing so would prevent platforms from censoring people on the argument that content is “otherwise objectionable” and insist on more definitive terms such as “promoting terrorism.”
The DISCOURSE Act also embeds a religious liberty clause.
“Today, a group of unelected, anonymous, and unaccountable people now have the power to determine what can and can’t be said in day-to-day online conversation,” Rubio argued in an op-ed for Fox News.
Cute acronym, Marco.
