Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Allen West, has submitted his irrevocable resignation to the officials’ meeting as of 8am CT today. He will remain at the helm of the Texas GOP until a new Chairman can be selected on July 11th at an undetermined location as of now.
Chairman West expressed his humble gratitude and stated that “it has been my distinct honor to serve as Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. I pray Godspeed for this governing body.” His tenure has been marked by a remarkable commitment to our grassroots organizers as well as tireless effort to make gains on our Legislative Priorities such as Constitutional Carry, the Heart Beat Bill, and Election Integrity. Additionally, his action to grow GOP support across the state from the Rio Grande Valley, to our rural base, and underserved urban areas has been dauntless.

Well, that’s pretty stupid of him.
If he runs for governor, he will win.
One of Abbott’s pluses, is because he is in a wheelchair, it is difficult for the demondogs to criticize him without having the charge “You wouldn’t say that to a man who could walk!” thrown in their face.
A black running, that takes the “You’re a racist!!!!! YOu Bigoted Jim Crow supporting NAZI!!!!” out of the playbook when if come to election reform.
Allan West would make a great TX governor. Do you think he would win if he ran?
There is quite a lot to admire about him. He is a great patriot, conservative. He has a lot of grassroot support. Given the choices we have for Gov, I would vote for him.
Can you imagine a DeSantis/West presidential ticket at some point in the future if the country survives that long?

If West runs for Governor, I am definitely voting for him!
Problem is Trump has endorsed Abbott. So I don’t see any way he loses unless he pisses Trump off - which he surely won’t do in an election year. That said, I would vote for West too...
