Mount Holyoke College hosted in September its Common Read Keynote with Pulitzer-winning New York Times journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones to talk about The 1619 Project, which was chosen to be this years common read.
During the keynote, Vice President for Equity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer Kijua Sanders-McMurtry interviewed Hannah-Jones.
"I dont think were an exceptional nation. I think thats ludicrous for any nation to make that claim, and we certainly cannot make that claim." Tweet This I think the 1619 Project should honestly be at every college, university, corporation, and school foundationally if these institutions are truly interested in being anti-racist, Sanders-McMurtry said. I think there is this idea out here right now that this is anti-American, and that this is seeking to reframe a narrative that doesnt need to be reframed, and I think youve done a beautiful job saying that this does need to be reframed and heres why."

Yep. I was a homeowner for 20 years and rented for twelve years after that.
The real problem with the property ownership rule is that over decades and centuries, we could end up like the old England, where property is owned by only a few land barrons and everyone else rents, and can’t vote.
Now I am in favor of no one on government assistance can vote but how could you define it?
Basic Allowance for Quarters can be technically termed as government housing assistance.
And I am not certain that people on government assistance actually vote in any great numbers. Other people voting for them I will buy. Actual voting, not so much.
They didnt believe in a democracy.
Thats why they gave us a representative republic. They gave us rule of law over mob rule.
And yes, that does make us an exceptional nation.
Unfortunately that gave us the New York Times.
Pays no taxes is one way.
