Republicans say President Trumps decision to make Hispanic voters a priority is boosting his support with this critical bloc in public opinion polls and threatening Democratic nominee Joe Bidens prospects in key battleground states.
Trump received 28% of the Hispanic vote four years ago. But a fresh national poll from Quinnipiac University pegged the presidents support with this demographic at 36% despite trailing Biden by 10 percentage points overall, progress reflected in other surveys conducted over the summer. In swing states that will determine the outcome of the presidential race, that level of Hispanic support could push Trump over the top in a close race.
Republicans credit Trumps management of the economy, at least before the advent of the coronavirus, for his improving performance with Hispanics. But more significant, they say, has been the Trump campaigns sustained presence in Hispanic communities and outreach to Hispanic voters since the end of the presidents first campaign at the same time that Democratic insiders have expressed concern that the Biden campaign has not targeted this segment of the electorate as aggressively as it should.

Joe Biden struggled to connect with Latino voters throughout the Democratic primary, and despite being in office for nearly 50 years, he has no record of achievement to point to when it comes to helping Hispanic communities, spokeswoman Ali Pardo said. ....
Some Democratic operatives acknowledge the disparity but express confidence that by the time all the votes are tallied in November, Bidens Hispanic support will be in the range of what Obama and Clinton achieved. ....
To get it there, the Biden campaign is running Spanish-language advertising on television, radio, and digital platforms tailored to specific Hispanic constituencies; for example, Cubans and Puerto Ricans in Florida and Mexican immigrants in the Southwest.

"An overwhelming majority of black voters 85 percent said in a new Hill-HarrisX poll that they would choose any Democratic presidential candidate over President Trump." (source) [Sorry, the article is about Hispanic/Latino vote block, but I'm also commenting on Trump's surging black support.]
By selecting Kamala Harris, Biden didn't (possibly won't) increase his black or Latino support. But that was a "choice" by necessity, Biden need the Sanders' base. Therefore Priorities USA, the Biden campaigns designated super PAC, director of polling, Katie Drapcho, said Bidens support among Hispanics is tracking closer to what Clinton did in 2016 than what recent surveys suggest. ====> IOW, don't trust the surge of Trump's Hispanic support in recent polls.
Yes. PDJT is reaching out, which is what’s been needed for so many years I can’t count
and he is doing it honestly, not bullsheit pandering
this is what is attracting so many black voters to Trump from off the DNC Plantation
same for Latino voters. People are people first. Or at least most folks are. They want to be respected as individuals, not as mere members of a racial group. And they want to be spoken with, not to. And finally, they want to have an intelligent conversation including about some key issues, not just racist platitudes and emotional buzz words
Bump
I have yet to hear any Spanish-speaking person wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt and I am in the midst of many Spanish speakers. Only within the week have I seen a BLM shirt on a black person since the fervor began earlier this year. By far in my travels, it is young white females some of whom are mothers who have been wearing BLM shirts. Maybe Spanish are tired of the BLM movement and will vote for Trump.
Yep, when the democrat Nazis sent out the racist BLM to loot and burn down Mexican neighborhoods on May 31st, that solidified Mexican support for the democrat party. Right?
Trump will win more than 50% of the Mexican vote.
It’s great that Trump is reaching out to Hispanics, he should reach out to everyone.
As others have mentioned I think the Democrat party reaching out with lawless mobs of anarchists destroying businesses owned by Hispanics and threatening their peaceful and prosperous neighborhoods has also had an effect.
To many of them it is just chic and trendy for them to do this...I think of Che Guevara shirts being worn by people in the same vein. No idea what is below the surface...actually, no clue at all.
While Zombie Joe is chasing after BLM voters, Trump is going for
hard working and family oriented Latino voters.
How about because he has been the best president since Washington.
Trump honestly deserves “Black” and Hispanic support..
He earned it.
Joe’s pandering, and the media that supports it, can only do so much.
My view is that BLM/Antifa is an outgrowth of prison gangs.
“White” people in prison fall prey to gangs. Their only choice for protection being “Nazi” gangs.
Hispanics have gangs in prison to protect them.
They’re having none of it.
He could be a lot more successful if he can overcome the leftist- establishment undermining of nearly everything he proposes/ tries. My issue is not that there shouldnt be honest critique and debate, but that there isnt any. Just lies and frankly sometimes outright sedition. That kind of krap needs to be cleaned out of the Aegean/WashDC stable.
He’s going to have a hard time beating Jeb Bush’s $75 Guaca Bowle. < /s>
I’m in CA and know many Latinos. Latinos own a LOT of small businesses; their goal is often that instead of college etc. Perhaps they are realizing Trump is in favor of small business and the Dems aren’t.
They also really value traditional families and doing things with family. Dems don’t seem to. . .
Completely agree he had an amazing day today no surprise and msm makes up some crazy story that makes no sense.
He should pledge to fight for refundable tax credits in the amount needed to cover all costs of good private schools, including Catholic schools, and that will get him millions more votes.
I agree he has been reaching out much more than others in the past and I would like to think that he is up to 36% of Hispanics but it doesn’t make sense that he is down 10 over all if that is the case, so skeptical of all polls. Regardless the Hispanic vote may be the key here’s why:
The Hispanic vote goes usually 70% Dem, and 32 million voters, 13.5% of all voters. More in some states (45% of all CA voters)
Just look at the states won by Trump,he won 32 states but only 4 have a population of Hispanic voters over 13%. Clinton by contrast won 28 states and only 5 had a Hispanic population of under 13%.
In CA, the Hispanic Population is now about 40% of all voters (and yes fueled by illegal immigrants and higher birth rate )and African American 12%.
This demographic shift and resulting voting trend is what is going on in early stages in Nevada, Az, Fl and now Texas. Colorado is now over 20% Hispanic and now a dem state, Nevada over 29% and voting solidly blue.
What many people on FR don’t get is how big the block voting is for Dems, Blacks 93% Dem, gets them an 11 point start before the game to 50 starts, Hispanics not quite as bad, Asians almost 80%,
In CA, the Hispanic Population is now about 40% (and yes fueled by illegal immigrants ) and African American 12%.
So crack this block and we are in good shape
This president is the epitome of outreach.
Look it all the personal visits he makes to factories, and the rallies. How does he have the time?
His work ethic alone shows how much he cares. And the competence of his Administration is reflected in the incredible RNC convention just finished.
Trump is the consummate politician — representative of We the People.
