Florida State University’s student government Senate president was ousted from his position after he referred to transgenderism and abortion as “grave evils” in a private chat room.
What he said: Jack Denton, the former president of the Student Senate at FSU, pointed out in a Catholic Student Union group chat that the Black Lives Matters organization, the ACLU, and Reclaim the Block promote issues that are “explicitly anti-Catholic,” after a student urged members to donate to several organizations and charities following the death of George Floyd.
He pointed out that the BLM organization and the ACLU support transgenderism and abortion, respectively, and said that Reclaim the Block’s goal is “contrary to the Church’s teaching on the common good” because the organization “claims less police will make our communities safer and advocates for cutting PD’s [police department’s] budgets.”
“BlackLivesMatter.com fosters ‘a queer affirming network’ and defends transgenderism. The ACLU defends laws protecting abortion facilities,” Denton said in the texts. “If I stay silent while my brothers and sisters may be supporting an organization that promotes grave evils, I have sinned through my silence.”

The thing about the internet is that every single statement is recorded. You wouldn’t share your political opinions with some random stranger on the street, where the chances of being recorded are far lower. Why would you do so on the internet under your real name?
