Election Was Always Going to Be a Mudfight. If Biden Can't See That, He Should Get Out of the Way.

I am excessively neutral on the subject of Joe Biden as a candidate for president. History would indicate that giving him another shot at it would be rather like handing Joe Hazelwood another supertanker. Nonetheless, considering the alternative, I'd walk through fire to vote for him. However, this piece in The New York Times is a vivid reminder that a) Biden's skills as a campaigner remain dodgy, and b) that he also seems to have lost a step as well.
For more than a week, President Trump had been hurling unfounded accusations about Mr. Biden, his son Hunter and their dealings in Ukraine. Mr. Biden and his advisers debated whether to mount a fierce counterattack or to stick to a set of policy arguments he had been planning to roll out. Bad news loomed in the background: Mr. Bidens poll numbers had already grown wobbly, his fund-raising was uneven, and cable news was flashing chyrons by the hour showing Mr. Trumps wild claims.
Mr. Biden himself was equivocating: He wanted to defend and protect his son, but he also believed the president was baiting him into a dirty fight. And as a lifelong adherent to congressional tradition, Mr. Biden was wary of acting hastily as an impeachment inquiry was getting underway.

Unfounded, unfounded, unfounded. They say it as if it's been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

‘unfounded’ only because the money went to the
sons of Pelosi, Romney, Kerry, and Biden
all with ‘perfect’ resumes.

Gee, if they are so unfounded, then why are the Dems so worried about us investigating them?

An obvious point, at least to you and me. But I have yet to see or hear anything along those lines from Trump, the MSM (no surprise) and even Fox and the rest of the conservative media.

Joe, bubba, at the moment, those "congressional traditions" are as dead as Henry Clay. Adhering to them makes you look like a doddering relic of ancient times, and it also makes it look like you won't fight for yourself and your family.
This idiot writer who resorts to profane language because he cannot express himself very well without it, pretends to buy the New York Times' description of Biden (NYT quotation in bold.)
I am now old enough to see this schtick play out. The reason Biden won't respond forcefully is NOT out of respect for Senate decorum or human decency, it is because he is CAUGHT, and the less said the better. I have seen this with misbehaving priests both liberal and superficially traditional, a Pope, too many politicians to count, and just regular folks, but certainly including Mrs. Clinton.

Biden and the DemocRATS...innocent unless proven guilty and any accusation is simply part of a smear campaign.
President Trump...guilty and no need for any further proof other than any accusation made by anybody who hates him.
Anybody seeing a slight bias here?
To: wastoute
Didn’t read the article but did he also bust out the tried and true “without evidence”and “thoroughly debunked”?

The fear grows, that the “unfounded” charges may very well turn out to be true, and there is no fallback alibi or alternative narrative to present at this late date.
The trouble with lying, that if the lie is not kept absolutely straight in all details, the details will rise and bite the liar in the Gluteus Maximus.
Facts end up conflicting and stepping all over themselves.

C’mon. Biden knows these things are fought in the mud. He’s been taken down in the primaries. I don’t know who he should fear more: President Triump, or the long knives at his back. Probably the latter.
