An obvious point, at least to you and me. But I have yet to see or hear anything along those lines from Trump, the MSM (no surprise) and even Fox and the rest of the conservative media.
The fear grows, that the “unfounded” charges may very well turn out to be true, and there is no fallback alibi or alternative narrative to present at this late date.
The trouble with lying, that if the lie is not kept absolutely straight in all details, the details will rise and bite the liar in the Gluteus Maximus.
Facts end up conflicting and stepping all over themselves.
