The Latest Iowa Poll Is Good News For Elizabeth Warren And Tulsi Gabbard
FiveThirtyEight ^ | September 23, 2019 | Nathaniel Rakich

On Saturday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren got one of her best polls of the cycle. According to a new survey by Selzer and Co. sponsored by the Des Moines Register, CNN and Mediacom, Warren has 22 percent support among Democrats in Iowa, the crucial first-in-the-nation caucus state. Former Vice President Joe Biden sits at 20 percent, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders at 11 percent, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 9 percent and Sen. Kamala Harris at 6 percent.

Notably, this is the first high-quality poll to put Warren at the top of the field in Iowa, though her 2 percentage-point lead is well within the poll’s 4-point margin of error. Since the beginning of August, surveys of Iowa have been quite unsettled; some polls showed Biden with a healthy lead (but were conducted several weeks ago, before the third debate), while others showed Warren competitive or ahead (but they weren’t gold-standard1 polls).

Biden is about to have a brutal next couple of months—the question is whether his candidacy survives it.

Bernie’s health is on the table as an issue—even if he does not withdraw.

The other candidates are just white (and black and hispanic and pervert) noise.

Warren should coast to victory in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Biden’s last stand will be South Carolina—the question is will he last that long.

I’d like to see Tulsi make the next debate and put one on the Grey Beaver like she did to Kamala.

It could be an interesting race. Here is a possible future history:

Following major heart surgery, and realizing he's been stuck at 20% in the polls forever, 78 year old Bernie Sanders follows the advice of his doctors and drops out of the race before the next debate.

On Oct.31st, folllowing the indictment of 16 Obama administration figures for SpyGate, as well as his son Hunter for RICO, FARA and moneylaundering Biden announces that he is suspending his campaign.

Warren, who has been holding at a steady 25% sees a pickup , but surprisingly the second tier candidates Buttigeig and Yang and Gabbard all pick up big chunks of the roughly 50% of the available vote that was being locked down by Biden and Bernie.

The Democrats come into Milwaukee for their August convention with no candidate having the majority of delegates. The first round voting is inconclusive, and the second round, which includes by DNC rules the 500+ super delegates also fails to reach a majority for any candidate.

... Hillary on Round 4.

Tulsi Gabbard: According to the Tuaua v. United States Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the people born in American Samoa – including those born on Swains Island – are “nationals but not citizens of the United States at birth”. If a child is born on any of these islands to any U.S. citizen, then that child is considered a national and a citizen of the United States at birth. In an amicus curiae brief filed in federal court, Samoan Congressman Faleomavaega supported the legal interpretation that the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment does not extend birthright citizenship to United States nationals born in unincorporated territories. All U.S. nationals have statutory rights to reside in the United States (i.e., the 50 states and Puerto Rico), and may apply for citizenship by naturalization after three months of residency by passing a test in English and civics, and by taking an oath of allegiance to the United States. However, the INA makes clear that any “national but not a citizen of the United States” who at any time has been convicted of any aggravated felony, whether the aggravated felony was committed inside or outside the United States, is “debarred from becoming a citizen of the United States”

The law is the law....Either Gabbard has been cleared to campaign for POTUS or she hasn't. If not, has Tulsi Gabbard applied for U.S. Citizenship as required.

Tulsi Gabbard seems to have qualified for the next debate. This debate will be YUGE for her. She needs it to get her out of the basement (of qualifying Democrats for the debates).

I DON’T want her to succeed. I think that she is the only one on the Dem side that has any chance against Trump. All the rest are too liberal (Socialist) for many Democrats. Those Democrats will vote for Trump or (more likely) not vote at all!

All the other candidates have ZERO chance against Trump. ZERO!

It will take more than stuffing a corn dog in your pie hole at the Iowa State Fair to carry Iowa in 2020.

Speaking of Iowa and corn dogs and such, I was surprised to see the Democrats at the recent Iowa steak fry. I thought Democrats would avoid such an event , because we are supposed to avoid meat to fight global warming.

Or, Bernie hangs on and with Trump running unopposed (for all practical purposes) Republican and Independent voters hand Bernie Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois,Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin through the open primary system. The Democrats (stuck with Bernie) attempt to oust him once more at their convention and shatter their party.

Where’s the Harris Halloween masks? Flailing arms optional. Too scary. She’s done.

I lived in Iowa from 1974 to 2001 and participated in politics, including three presidential campaigns.

Only 538 is stupid enough to think Lizzy Warren would win IA in the general.
Midwestern voters don’t like people coming into town and telling them how to live.
Same with Ted Cruz or any politician.

“Lizzy Warren took an ax...”

Following major heart surgery, and realizing he's been stuck at 20% in the polls forever, 78 year old Bernie Sanders follows the advice of his doctors and drops out of the race before the next debate.

Stents are not major surgery and many people are discharged the next day. His doctors will advise him to be back to work in two to four weeks at most. However, his campaign will have lost any momentum and many supporters may think he is too old and frail to continue supporting him.

Bernie should have sued Debbie Washerwoman Schultz, Clinton, and the DNC when they rigged the primaries against him. Instead he peed his pants and wimped put. Now he’s too old to run and missed out. Too F-ing Bad.
