HOUSTON — It wasn’t your typical Trump campaign rally.
Instead of red Make America Great Again hats, there were turbans and Islamic caps. Women in traditional Indian garb danced to bhangra drums. And tens of thousands of cheering Indian Americans chanted “USA!” and snapped photos.
President Donald Trump appeared at a cavernous football stadium on Sunday alongside Narendra Modi, the popular prime minister of India, who attracted a crowd of 50,000 from across the U.S. to what was touted as the largest event in the country for a leader of a foreign nation.
“You have never had a better friend as president than President Donald Trump,” Trump said as the crowd roared with approval. “We thank you. We love you. I want you to know my administration is fighting for you each and every day.”
Trump is hoping to appeal to Indian American voters, a growing political force in the U.S., with his business-friendly agenda — especially the 2017 tax cuts — as well as his tough talk on terrorism and his decision to show up at the rally even though the ethnic group has generally backed Democrats.
“It’s giving a message to the Indian community that Trump is a big friend of India,” said Rupesh Srivastava, a Michigan businessman and founding member of the Republican Hindu Coalition. “That message will definitely motivate people.”

Let’s not forget though...the US has a huge shortage in both Nursing, Doctors. Americans are not going into the medical field.
I called for a Dr’s appt recently and the soonest i can get in is Dec.30th because Dr’s are retiring in droves and handing their patients over to the few left to handle..and there aren’t enough NEW Dr’s coming in.

Here in NJ they are the white-collar “replacement Americans”; no longer just in tech, but in the financial sector as well.
Laying off Americans while hiring Asians has driven our middle-class birthrate to 0 - and that becomes the politicians’ excuse to bring millions more of them here.

I believe it was a Far Side comic that showed American Indians watching ships sail away; one turns to the others and asks, “Did anyone else find it ominous how they said, we’ll be back”?
Better get used to crap Indian nursing care and attitude. Filipinos, known for good quality care (they follow US Nursing training, practices and procedures) and empathy are now effectively banned from working in the USA.
How many Indian American voters are there?
In the United States? I think I saw the number 17 million.
I used to get the chance to read ethnic newspapers for a variety of recent immigrant groups. India Today I think was one popular with Indian immigrants. What I noticed is all had an affinity for socialism, and it seemed to be regardless of income or education levels. It’s something that they are used to back home, so they vote for it here. And it’s not just Indians, it’s a lot of groups. You’re aware of it, but in my experience most Americans haven’t a clue.
