The “Never Trump” movement has a new ally: hedge fund boss Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired in 2017 after serving 11 days as communications director in President Donald Trump’s White House.
Anti-Trump pundit and veteran Republican operative Bill Kristol confirmed to CNBC in a few brief text messages that he has spoken to Scaramucci since the SkyBridge Capital founder had a public falling out with Trump this summer. Asked whether he has spoken to Scaramucci about trying to find another presidential candidate to replace Trump on the top of the GOP ticket next year, Kristol said: “Yup.”
But Kristol, who has been critical of Scaramucci in the past, wouldn’t go much further than that when describing his interactions with the former Trump surrogate.

If they couldn’t get Trump off the ticket in 2016, there is NO WAY IN HELL they’ll get him off in 2020.
And yes, they tried, really hard to remove Trump in 2016, led by Paul Ryan. What stopped them in their tracks was when elected Republicans were told, IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, that if Trump wasn’t on the ticket, the base, THE ENTIRE BASE, was simply going to stay home...and hence cost them their seats.
This is about the most comical thing I’ve heard today. When Trump came into the picture in 2015, I laughed because I recognized he was a different animal than anything these lifetime scab politicians had dealt with before. They had nothing on him and try as they might, they can’t get anything. He had no allegiance to anyone but the voters. He couldn’t be bought as he was already rich, and couldn’t be threatened with embarrassment as he didn’t care what they thought.
He had a history of accomplishing what he said he would do, and had nothing to lose getting it done. They have nothing to offer him he hasn’t already got, and can’t take that away from him. They can’t hurt him, and the people love him. In the old vernacular, they are outrun, outgunned, and insignificant.
If they piss him off, they’ll get kicked off his plane. If they try to embarrass him in print, he take their press pass. If they get stupid, he’ll twitter it throughout the world which they can’t stop. And he doesn’t care which party does it. He hammers everyone and scare them to death.
He’s just different from anything they’ve ever dealt with. And I thought it was great at the time, and it’s getting better all the time. You go boss!!
