Outspoken Trump critic Jeff Flake offered a rare defense of President Trump in response to former President Jimmy Carter's remarks suggesting the current president isn't a legitimate one.
Speaking at a Democratic forum on Friday, Carter weighed in on Russia's interference in the 2016 election and expressed his belief that it played a much bigger role in the election of Trump than Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded.
"I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016," the 94-year-old former president said. "He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf."
When asked if he thought if Trump was an "illegitimate president," Carter responded, "Basically, what I just said, which I can’t retract," sparking laughter among the panel and the audience.
The former Arizona senator took to Twitter late on Friday in defense of the president, calling it an "awful thing" for Carter to say.
"This is an awful thing for one American president to say about another," Flake tweeted. "Argue that he shouldn't be reelected, sure, but don't say that he wasn't legitimately elected."

Ah yes, and she was also right about her othr son Billy. When Billy came to Oakland, CA years ago to speak, at the Oalkand Auditorium, he was introduced by Carter Gilmore, a Black City Councilman. In his introduction, Gilmore opined that since his first name was Carter, perhaps they were related. When Billy took the mike he said that that wasn’t a possibility because as far as he knew there wre no Ni—ers in his woodpile! The Carters have always been a trash family.
I think Jimmy Carter is senile also. But what if he isn’t senile and we are wrong. This fight cannot get much uglier without people getting killed. When our ex president starts throwing false accusations at another president we know how deep this fight is going to be. It’s really sad but here we are Civil War 11.

Carter is just expressing what many Democrats believe. This is their dream - that the 2016 election was fraudulent and what Democrats must do to recover their honor is uncover the evidence of Russian manipulation, remove Trump, and install Hillary as the rightful President.
Sort of like the Palestinians’ dream - that eventually they will forcibly eject the Jews from Palestine (it must be a forceable ejection), and thus recover their honor and dignity.

The only way Trump could have won after all the Deep State collusion and Democratic Party vote rigging, is if the Russians or maybe space aliens helped him. So therefore, he must be illegitimate.
