Not so woke
And then there were 14.
The ranks of white, male Democrats who seem to have surveyed the partys sprawling primary field and concluded that America clearly needs another president who looks like them continued to expand this week. Montana Gov. Steve Bullock and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio followed in the footsteps of other little-known white dudes such as Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, California Rep. Eric Swalwell, Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton and Colorado Sen. Michael Bennett, launching their own late-breaking presidential bids.
Bullock and de Blasios back-to-back announcements mean that a full 61 percent of the comically vast 23-person Democratic lineup is now made up of white men after the groundbreaking early weeks of the contest, when most of the candidates were women and/or people of color.
Some Democrats were not rejoicing at the news of de Balsios candidacy, in particular. I have no idea what the mayor is doing, one operative told Yahoo News. Delusional, said another.
Yet as skeptical as Dems may be, few have suggested that the latest white guys to declare would be better suited to serve as vice president than as commander in chief.
That dubious honor, it seems, has so far been reserved for candidates of color black women in particular.
After 2018 Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was floated by associates of former Vice President Joe Biden as a possible out-of-the-gate ticketmate a proposition that Abrams swatted aside, saying, You dont run for second place the VP speculation has intensified around the only black woman already running for president: California Sen. Kamala Harris.

maybe because she doesn’t stand a chance in Hell of winning the top slot nomination
Kamaltoe has a problem there’s nobody she can “sleep with” to be given the presidency.
This is the point where they figure out that every Democrat candidate being also considered as VP is, if picked, an assassination threat to any other Democrat candidate.
None of them can trust each other any more than we trust them, and none can turn his back on the next.
She’s not eligible for either.
Because if she has any political smarts she knows no one has a snowball's chance in New Orleans to beat Trump in 2020, but looking good enough as a VP candidate would make her the automatic front runner for 2024. (And unlike with Sarah Palin, the media would support her in this.)
She'll fit under the Resolute Desk easier during those National Security meetings.
Ms. Harris has a LOT of competition for the “last cookie on the plate”, as I have seen the vying for vice president so succinctly described. Stacey Abrams, for one, and Pete Buttigieg, for another, seem to be the leading favorites for the slot.
What would Ms. Harris bring to the table? Certainly not a sweet disposition.
“There are 14 white male Dems running for president. So why should Kamala Harris settle for veep?”
Is it just me or is that a total non sequitur?
Why do I always have to think of everything?
There is a very simple solution to this mess. The Democratic National Committee should just change its rules to make white men ineligible for nomination.
Of course, there will be the problem of white men self-identifying as a black lesbians, or whatever. I’ll leave it to the DNC to work out those details.
Maybe because she’s an idiot who is totally unqualified. Yeah, I know, that didn’t stop ObaMao. But the novelty of first black president (even if he was, at most, 3/8th black) has long since worn off.
Kamala is an anchor baby.
Maybe because she is INELLIGIBLE for either office
The “heels-up, knees-wide” KamalToe isn’t even eligible for POTUS or VP. As stated above, she’s an anchor baby. She’s also unqualified and barely made it as “Willie’s Mattress”
What’s the “settle” about?
She has a race “qualification” which is the ONLY thing she has. If she had a discernible IQ (goes for ALL the Dimbulbcrat candidates), she’d have a beef.
But she doesn’t so she doesn’t.
Lady, politics is the only place for idiots - oops, make that politics and journalism.
Get a real life, learn a useful trade, and if you fail, seriously consider seppuku. There are plenty of women out there much more capable than you. And they just happen to be conservative.
I wonder if they ever get tired of writing the same old tripe.
My rule of thumb on presidential election viability
- “Can you win a state wide race?”
No !
So stop wasting people time!
