Sen. Susan Collins said she is "appalled" by a tweet from President Donald Trump disparaging the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
The Maine Republican called the statement from the President "inappropriate and wrong."
"I was appalled by the President's tweet," Collins said Friday, according to audio obtained by CNN of an event where she spoke with local reporters.

The senator, who is a crucial swing vote on Kavanaugh's nomination, was responding to a question on what she thought of a tweet from the President suggesting that Christine Blasey Ford should have come forward with her allegation against Kavanaugh earlier....

Trump should have continued his previous attitude. The woman is nuts, it is obvious, the Rats are impossible, Collins & Flake & Corker are also impossible. The GOP troublemakers must be catered too.

And Ford is NOT a teenager anymore. She's a middle-aged college professor... And she's had over 30 years to 'think' about what happened. If only women's feelings count then what about Kavanaugh's wife and daughters?
Can we at least consider their feelings for a minute or two?
I’m apalled with Collins. First, she just lied about what Trump said. Second, she wasn’t at the party so can’t possibly know what did or didn’t happen. Third, she’s on the committee so shouldn’t be speaking about it to anyone, much less the msm. Geez, do any of these Senators have a clue ethics? Yeah, rhetorical.

Yesterday, he stepped in it.
Sometimes he needs to quit while he's ahead and he was ahead on the issue up until those stupid tweets. He drew fire away from Blasey-Ford and onto himself. His tweets were not clever, poorly timed, and unnecessary.

Maine likes electing women to the senate who pretend to be Republicans and we got Collins and Snow. Then when they had a chance to replace Snow, they didn’t have guts enough to elect a male Republican - has to be an Independent. Maine should be annexed to Canada and let them do their damage there. They’re not doing us (US) any good....
