Dem pollster: Clinton showed that being against Trump is not enough to win
The Hill ^ | July 11, 2018 | Julia Manchester

Democratic pollster Carly Cooperman on Wednesday pointed to Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential bid to argue that opposing President Trump alone is not enough to win an election.

"With Hillary Clinton, we saw that just being against Trump isn't enough," Cooperman, who is a partner at Schoen Consulting, told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking."

“There is so much anger and passion in the Democratic Party right now to come out against Trump, but I do not think that will be enough," she continued. “The Democrats need more than just that, and they need to have ideas that they're articulating in terms of immigration and the economy."

Cooperman's comments come as Democrats prepare to face off against Republicans in the November midterm elections, with Republicans seeking to defend a narrow majority in the Senate and fend off Democrats trying to retake the House.

Democratic candidates and incumbents have recently lashed out against the Trump administration's controversial "zero tolerance" immigration policy that led to the separation of migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border, among other criticisms.

She needs to focus on the Rust Belt states, where Trump won by less than 1% combined. Trump will equally need to expand his margins way beyond 1% in those states to be sure of winning. It’s possible that a Trump victory in 2020 will once again fall short of winning more of the popular vote than his Democratic opponent.

No, it showed me that the era of spending more and more $$$ on a task the majority of Americans don’t want is coming to an end.

If the Dems once again win the popular vote in 2020 while losing the electoral vote count, look for them to whine even louder about how the Electoral College needs to be abolished.

Not only will Trump expand his margins in those states, he’s going to expanding winning more states he barely lost in 2016.

I concur BUT the one added factor will be a booming economy. If that’s the case in 2020, Trump is back in for a second term. You also have the factor of incumbency.

“With Hillary Clinton, we saw that just being against Trump isn’t enough,”

With Trump, we saw that being against Hillary was MORE than enough.

Including two Supreme Court vacancies and counting. Who here thinks the economy would’ve improved under Hillary?

...“[Democrats] need to have ideas that they’re articulating in terms of immigration and the economy.”.....

Dims’ “ideas” about immigration and the economy are TOTALLY cracked!!!!

If they put those cracked “ideas” together with hatred for President Trump, they will lose big-time! GOOD!!!!

Being against Trump wasn’t enough.

Of course, being FOR communism isn’t enough, either.

The only mistake the Clinton campaign made was in under estimating the amount of fraud needed to win.

Her campaign was no more dysfunctional than any other DNC candidate over the last 5 decades or so.

PS. Yeah. I’m saying that the DNC is a viable national party *only* because of massive organized fraud.

That was Ted Cruz’s problem in the primaries and primary debates. Every time he was asked a question, he would respond, “Donald Trump yada yada yada ...”

That was Hillary Clinton’s problem after Trump won the Republican nomination. Every time she was asked a question, she would respond, “Donald Trump yada yada yada ...”

All their ideas are rooted in the 1867 publication of “Das Kapital.” Except for killing babies. But communism leads to the complete valuation of life and wanton murder of enemies, so you could make a strong arguement that even abortion is rooted in communism.

Turns out you have to be more than half alive to win an election too.
A national election anyway, in NJ your mileage may vary.

She wasn’t just “against Trump.” She was for a mishmash of standard Dem policy positions, combined with the interest group politics of “smashing the glass ceiling” and having the First Woman President. She lost because she and her campaign team were horrible. Not just horrible but possibly the worst nominee of a major party in the history of the United States.
