Some Democrats are reportedly concerned that public appeals to “absolutely harass” Trump administration officials will come back to hurt them in the polls and benefit Republicans.
There have been several recent instances where Trump officials have been publically shamed, including Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, who was asked to leave by an owner of a restaurant in Virginia.
On Saturday, Florida Attorney General – and ardent Trump supporter – Pam Bondi was confronted by a group of protesters outside the screening of a documentary about Mister Rogers in Tampa. A video of the confrontation shows the Florida AG leaving the theater as several people yell at her, with one woman seen shouting at her about Bondi’s recent actions on health care policy and her stance on immigration.
The Washington Post’s editorial board wrote a column titled, “Let the Trump team eat in peace.” The paper identified the heightened state of “passions” in the country, but saw no benefit in protesters interrupting dinners.
Democrats warned that these public encounters could win sympathy for the Trump administration, The Los Angeles Times reported.
Rep. Maxine Waters, in the meantime, is not backing down from her weekend comments calling for people to confront members of the Trump administration at gas stations and anywhere else they're seen in public....

Come on. There hasn’t been “shame” in this country in decades. What the left is doing is assault and harrassment.
And as another FReeper said, the dems don’t condemn the assaults and harrassment, they’re just worried about losing votes. Despicable!
They should be thankful if that’s all it costs them.

The ridiculousness of Maxine Waters' call (and the fact many Democrats agree with her) has really turned off the American electorate. In short, the protesters are doing a perfect emulation of the old Nazi Sturmabteilung (Storm Troopers) of pre-1933 Germany.
Compost is panicking that these SJWs will hurt their team with independent votes in November. They should be. However most of these agitating idiots cannot or do not read.
Kinda late for that.
What I sense is going on now given a few comments I have heard out of the demicommie party is they are trying to dump this all onto Maxine knowing she cannot be beat in her district. They will run against the tactics she supports (albeit they do also) to make it look like they are more centrists. Dems never disappoint, it is all smoke and mirrors with them during any run up to an election. They are the worse scum on the planet, barely eking out that distinction from the RINOs.

“Shaming” only works one way, like a ratchet. The mob psychology that goes with the shouting and taunting does not leave room for introspection, dwelling on the rightness or wrongness of behavior. The target does not necessarily have the resources to effectively counter this assault, which is what the mob is counting on.
But once in a while, there comes along a personality so solid, so sure of his (or her) foundations, that almost single-handedly turns the attacks back on the attackers, and they are at a loss of how to deal with this unconventional response.
So it has been with that force of nature that is Donald J. Trump. “I’m Rubber, you’re Glue, bounce off me, stick to you.” Wild accusations that would have sunk many campaigns were deftly turned aside by Trump, and from each of them, he appeared to be ever stronger after all of these attacks were demolished.
My President. And destined for an historic place as one of the greatest ever.
Nice try, but the dems know that mid-terms are increasingly nationalized. Doesn't matter if they're three thousand miles away, I believe Rs will be motivated to vote defensively against Mad Maxine and Botox Nan. And the bullhorn act isn't a big seller among the indies.
