Voting precincts have closed in Alabama, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota as eight states hold primaries Tuesday, including in California where the Democratic Partys plan to regain control of the House of Representatives faces a big test.
The Fox News Decision Desk can now project that former pharmaceutical executive Bob Hugin will win Tuesdays Republican Senate primary in New Jersey. But it is too early to project a winner on the Democratic side, where incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez is battling fellow Democrat Lisa McCormick. Menendezs corruption and bribery case is expected to play a starring role in the general election....

I voted in California just to pump up the Trump Turnout.
Hoping that Freepers can post info on R vs D turnout vs expectation. We need to keep working to kill that Blue Wave.
Democrat primary election turnout & voting very light in New Jersey, Alabama & Mississippi. Republicans have lock on Alabama & Mississippi and Democrat, Robert Menendez in New Jersey carries his primary with only about 200,000 votes...total. New Jersey has 5,800,000 registered voters. So...Menendez wins his primary with a paltry 8% of the voters.
This weak victory give the Republican candidate a long shot at the senate seat based on the number Republicans, Independents and Democrats that have shunned the “criminal” Menendez!!! Menendez will probably prevail...but it’s a race in the making in New Jersey. Stay tuned.
Not a good opening this evening for the Democrat Party.
A serious Republican candidate, something never found in NJ it seems, could have made this race competitive.
Any democrats manage to vote in all 8 states?
bookmark to me to check those live results as they come in!
Yes...I agree. Menendez is absolutely open to being beaten in his home state. We shall see if the Republican has the guts and MoJo to attack with a political killer mantra.
I’ll give a you few more that we could take down if we have the courage and determination to kill the entire Democrat Party, politically.
- Tim Kaine, Virginia
- Bill Nelson, Florida
- Bob Casey, Pennsylvania
- Jon Testor, Montana
- Debbie Stanbenow, Michigan
And...there are more!!!
I didn’t really look at any Dem candidates until tonight and got a chuckle when it was reported that former Gov. Seigelman’s son is running against a Chris Christie...lol (Alabama).
McCaskill has to go too! But have little faith in the GOP. Theyd rather be in the minority..
Looks like I will have to choose between the lesser of two evils for my Congress critter as Martha Roby appears to be headed to a runoff with Bobby Bright. I voted for a true patriot, Amason..but it’s his 1st time ever running. He’s in last place but doing well considering he’s not well known...sigh
Some results so far
NJ Senate
Bob Menendez easily beat back his Berner primary challenger, who’s so ugly she doesn’t have her picture on her own campaign site. The GOP nominee, Businessman Bob Huggin, is sitting on a bigger warchest than the corrupt incumbent. There’s a chance, less than 50% but more than Jim Carey’s character in “Dumb and Dumber” hooking up with that redhead.
CD 2, open seat (R) swung to Trump in 2016 Potus voting after going for Obama twice, slight rat edge in primary votes
CD 5, Rat freshman in a narrow Trump district, Perrenial Canddiate Steve Loseagain, has lost, again, he lost the GOP nod to the unfortunately named John McCann. Loseagain had more money but McCann is probably a stronger candidate.
CD 7
RINO Leonard Lance easily bests 2 primary challengers, a far-left progtard chick running as a Republican (this is happening more and more) and a conservative Egyptian Christian Doctor, district swugn narrowly to Clinton, there were more rat primary votes
CD 11
Open seat, R, stayed Trump but narrowed, slightly more rat votes
Alabama
CD 2
Martha Roby (R) had 4 or 5 challengers, why? She’s in a runoff with Former Rat Congressman Bobby Bright who has switched to the GOP, his platform is “She’s not on the right committees”, she’s only on Appropriators, THE most important committee. So basically his platform is he misses being in office and he can’t win as a rat so....
Mississippi Senate
Wicker easily beats a weak challenger, I resent Chris McDaniel for not sticking with this race (he switched to the Nov special)
SD Governor
Rep. Kristi Noem wins the GOP nod for Governor over the State AG
Meanwhile in New Jersey, it appears that the Second Congressional district may not be the totally lost cause as was thought - it looks as though the Atlantic County MAGA Republican Seth Grossman has unexpectedly won the nomination there over the better known and funded Hirsh Singh - as expected the long time Democrat politician Jeff Van Drew won the ‘rat primary - but according to NJTV, Trump has an approval rating of about fifty percent in the District, and even Van Drew this evening was saying that he would support Trump whenever he was following policies that seemed right for the district - Van Drew might not be quite the guaranteed winner he seemed.......
YESS!!
Thanks for the update.
Thanks for the update.
Keep ‘em coming :)
He probably announced a 2020 bid for some office before they even finished counting the ballots for this one.
Interesting fact: Both Lonegan and John Cox campaigned as die-hard NeverTrumpers. Lonegan even described Donald Trump as "Hillary Clinton with a penis".
I probably missed a few races in here, but I believe this is a rough outline of Lonegan’s current track record running for office:
1995 Mayor of Bogota, New Jersey (pop. 7000) - won
1997 State Senate, 37th legislative district - lost
1998 U.S. Congress, New Jersey’s 9th district - lost
2005 Governor of New Jersey - lost primary
2009 Governor of New Jersey - lost primary
2013 U.S. Senate, special election for open seat - lost
2014 U.S. Congress, New Jersey’s 3rd district - lost primary
2016 State director, Ted Cruz for President - lost
2018 U.S. Congress, New Jersey’s 5th district - lost primary
Fortunately for him, he can still carpetbag in New Jersey’s 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th congressional district races.
He was reelected Mayor a couple times and did win a primary in 2013 special election, otherwise you got it. Even Ray Charles could see there’s something about him voters outside of Bogota don’t like about him.
CA
Senate, it’s not final but it looks like main Republican candidate misses out on facing Feinstien, she’ll face more liberal Rat Challenger Kevin DeLeon, Fake Republican lefist kook Rocky De La Fuente comes in 8th with 2% in the first of what will be several losses (he’s running in several states) this year, though he’s just ahead of the EVEN MORE super liberal progressive darling candidate, Alison Hartman, who should have asked DiFi to face her in a swimsuit competition.
2 rats face each other for LT Governor
Cox advances in the gubernatorial election as do Republicans for Sec of State, AG, Treasurer and Controller.
Former RINO Insurance Commish Steve Poizner ran for his old job as an indie and placed first, he’ll a face a rat, no Republican ran for that post or the officially non-partisan Education position.
Congress
CD 7 (D)
Most of the vote isn’t in yet but Republicans combined are getting a respectable 45%
CD 8
It’s too close to call as to whether Rep. Paul Cook (R) will face fellow Republican Tim Donnelly who appears to be running to his right, or a rat, Tim is up with 99% in.
CD 10
Targeted R seat of Jeff Dehnan, GOP combined won a narrow majority, but it looks like the top rat snuck by the other Republican and will face Denham, boo.
CD 21
Only 1 rat and no one else challenged Republican David Valado, popular but in district that goes rat for President (GOP down in each of the last 2 elections), so apparently if only 2 run they don’t bother with voting, both just advance.
CD 24 (D)
2 Republicans combined for over 47%, Justin Fareed will face the incumbent rat, outside chance of a win (and in CD 7 too)
CD 25
Targeted Republican Steve Knight won about 53%, no other Republicans, faces a rat,
CD 31 (D)
Might be our best pickup chance in the state, Republican Sean Flynn placed just ahead of the incumbent rat with about 46% each, another rat got the other 8%.
CD 35 (Safe D)
Rat former Rep. Joe Baca (who switched to R in 2015 and back to rat this year) lost a bid to advance to the general, the rat incumbent will face a Republican
CD 39 (Open R)
Looks like Republican Young Kim will face a rat, there were way too many candidates in this district, looks like GOP combined took 52-53%.
CD 45 (The OC)
Incumbent Republican Mimi Walters got 53%, faces a rat, no other Republicans ran
CD 48
Embattled Republican Dana Rorbacher got just 30%. Looks he’ll face a rat, 2 rats and another Republican are all close for 2nd place. GOP combined got about 52% or so. Would have liked the other Republican to make it, this might be the most worrisome seat in the state.
CD 49
Issa’s open seat, R/D combined nearly a tie, Republican Diane Harkey placed first and will face the main rat. We needed fewer Republicans running here, exactly 2 would have done nicely as the top rat got only 17%. The rat that nearly beat Issa last time came in 4th, they like this other jerk better.
CD 50
This seat stayed comfortable in the Trump column, Duncan Hunter fell under 50%, looks a rat beat out the other Republican (GOP combined 58% or so)
New Mexico
CD 2
Open seat of Steve Pearce, R gubernatorial nominee, slightly more rat votes were cast (and these seat went D in 2008 when Pearce last left it) but I’m not worried, rats are stronger than they appear with NM party registration, IIRC.
Montana Senate
Sec of State Matt Rosendale wins an underwhelming primary victory against several other candidates, the most notable being the decently funded but very unfortunately named Judge Russ Fagg, Rosendale faces rat Tester who needs to go.
