My Trace colleague Jennifer Mascia pulled some numbers from the Small Arms Survey, which gauges gun stockpiles in the hands of civilians, law enforcement, and militaries around the world, The Traces email blaster writes. She found that with an estimated 270 million firearms owned by everyday Americans, civilians own 70 times more weapons than all police and military services combined. Boldly played sir!

“Having many more firearms then the govt is a good thing, but dont forget the A well regulated militia ... part.”
Her number 270M for civilian population is similar to what I’ve seen before. But the claim that it’s 70 times greater than military and police is ridiculous. The math comes out to be 3.8M for military and police which is far understated.
They cannot eliminate that which is (relatively) easy to produce.
Govt can’t keeps out of the hands of criminals BEHIND bars!!
Though, it still irks me to no end to see those across the seas, brandishing\carrying AKs and the like, while being infringed here where our inalienable Rights are supposedly assured/protected (by govt....yeah, I see the rub).

[2A is the most important Amendment.]
The 2nd Amendment is the guarantor of the Bill of Rights.
I used to own at least one firearm that fired all of the popular calibers. Unfortunately, I lost them all in a tragic boating accident last year.

Before criminals in the US got very far along in that, regular citizen would deal with the issue, if the cops weren’t. The only reason there isn’t more outcry than there is, is because the gangbangers are in significant percentages mostly killing each other. The collateral damage stinks, but that’s the reality.
I just picked up another oddball caliber, the M95 Steyr straight pull carbine, AKA the shoulder breaker. It chambers the 8x56r 205 grain cartridge. Not too accurate, but I think it will punch thru an engine block.
And yet, they remain mostly silent. Still, they insist on tempting fate.
Armored personel carriers can be defeated.
I prefer fire, myself.
After seeing the self-mobilization of thousands of private Texans over the last few days it’s my opinion that there’s nothing a well motivated, unified group of men can’t do.
And that is why the elites want us to be demotivated and disunited. So they can more easily destory us.
Been there, got a brick of that. As well as .223/5.56mm, .38, .380 ACP, .40 S&W, and plenty of .22 LR and .22 WMR to kneecap with.
That is quite an oddball caliber. Why FRiend, why?
They are cool little rifles. Usually cut down long rifles in 8X50r from WW1 and rechambered. Got a very good deal on this one. Bulgaria got a bunch of them from the nazis, who made ammo and chargers for them. (I like stuff from WW1 and WW2 along with Finnish Mosins)
“got a brick”
Shoot, ya need a crate or two.
Working on that. Got bills to pay and Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets to buy. Try having things that go bang in six different calibers. Sorry, seven - forgot about that home defense 12 ga. that got a full tactical makeover. Plus, quality leather and extra mags ain’t free.
I find the crates are bit hard to handle anymore at ~ 62 lbs. 2 spam cans and you better have the opener, haha.
