All the signs suggest that 2018 is going to be a very good year for Democrats.
Midterm elections are historically terrible for the president's party. In 18 of the last 20 midterm elections, the president's party has lost seats. In those 18 elections, the average seat loss is 33. Those numbers are even more daunting for presidents under 50% job approval -- as Donald Trump is right now. Since 1946, the average seat loss in the House in that situation is 36 seats.
But before Democrats get too delirious about the election to come, they should read this paragraph from David Wasserman's terrific analysis of the 2018 election on FiveThirtyEight:
"Even if Democrats were to win every single 2018 House and Senate race for seats representing places that Hillary Clinton won or that Trump won by less than 3 percentage points a pretty good midterm by historical standards they could still fall short of the House majority and lose five Senate seats."(continued)

One thing we can count on is that Mueller and his phalanx of Hillary supporters will not come out with their investigation condemning Pres. Trump until next summer, in the height of the political season.
This is their plan to suppress the turnout of Trump’s supporters at the polls in November, their only hope of gaining majorities in both houses. Get ready for it. Pray that the President has a plan to counter these “bomb shell revelations.”
Then how come we have Justice Gorsuch?
They actually believe that their losses were due to (in their minds) out of control racist tea party extremism to Obama. It worked for us so it will work for them.
Their biggest weakness is living in a make believe bubble instead of reality.
In Maine we are looking at their social media pages to see where they stood on President Trump before the elections and even the end of the primaries.
Cizilla: Fine, except there's nothing positive to write about except the phony polls. The Dems are going to get killed in 2018.
Zucker: I don't care. You're job is to lie, weasel, and make stuff up. So get out there and write that story.
Cizilla: Yes, sir! Well, here's my most optimistic line:
"The political environment is looking very, very good for Democrats. But the math is unchanging -- and bad -- for them."
I think what I am saying is, it seems to me that if “active” Republicans seek to toss out incumbents they are unhappy with, there’s a certain chance of rolling said seats over to Dems. That’s “logic”; it isn’t meant to be an informed prediction. If Rep seats are put into play, there’s some chance of losing them, it would seem.
“I think 2018 is going to be a real bad year for democrats and in the republican primaries the republican establishment will get a real scare from some surprise chalengers”
I agree.
Hillary is poised to win the election by a landslide...
Yep, Rachel Maddow confirmed it, Hillary’s a shoe in. Dem’s don’t even to bother voting. It’s all taken care of by Donna Brazille.
The Republican Senate is cutting it’s own throat. Barring some major primary upsets on the GOP side the GOP will lose the senate in 2018. They have shown they are so full of crap and nothing but liberal liars. Why would their base waste it’s time with this bunch of socialist again??? The democrats will win bogey man is wearing thin. We kept the Democrat bogey man out but he sill runs the show in the senate.

That’s certainly the case especially when one thinks of the sure wins the right has given up in the sake of ‘principled conservatism’. One saying that has done much harm to the right is: “The lesser of two evils is still evil.” If that is the touchstone for choosing a candidate, then one must stay home and not vote. After all, there has been only one man who had not a shred of evil and Jesus isn’t on the ballot.
