The intense emotions surrounding the 2016 campaign were apparent to me during the last month of the race.
I spent those final weeks criss-crossing the country with the CNN #myvote campaign camper, talking to voters about who they would pick and why. Most people my colleagues and I talked to were deeply set in their convictions about their candidate and easily overlooked any shortcomings. I rarely met an undecided voter.
At the time, I expected that -- like most previous elections -- passions would eventually ease after the race was called and the country had time to process the results. But that hasn't happened. Instead, eight months after the election, it often seems like the most vitriolic campaign in recent memory is still unfolding -- and taking a personal toll on Democrats and Republicans alike.
We recently set up a voicemail and asked you to call in and leave a message responding to this idea:
Whatever your political leanings, we want to hear about how this political climate is impacting your life and your relationships.
We heard from hundreds of you and the messages often spoke to the personal divisions that have emerged since the election with friendships broken and family members no longer speaking to each other.....

Only the Dems and their media cannot move on. We won you lost get over it.
Depends on the meaning of “move on.”
I have no animosity towards Democrats. I view them the same I would a petulant child, and I stopped trusting them decades ago.
Republicans are not moving on either; they are doing everything in their power to make sure this man does not succeed.
It’s pretty hard to move on when you have the media and antifa and BLM, and the fruitcakes attacking you 24/7. I will back down when they do. They’ve come at normal people one time too many and I relish in the thought of their ultimate demise.
When the attack my President, they attack me. And when I’m attacked, I fight back. Period.
So now we have Congressional Snowflakes. Pitiful.
Heheh. That's what the article says. Oh, and one of the Trump supporters sounds angry. But the Hillary supporters are justified in disowning their mother, and unfriending anybody who is a friend of a Trump supporter!
Bernie bot almost got rear ended. Said it was bullying on account on her Bernie bumper sticker. Funny article. Pointless, but funny.
Y’know—If my boss were to ask why I hadn’t completed an important work assignment he had given me, and I told him it was because I was having trouble moving on from the results of the election eight months earlier, he’d can me; and rightly so.
I’m not sure the Republicans were ever recover from their stunning defeat in 2016.
It only traumatic the establishment. To the reprehensible unwashed what is traumatic is the war on all things Trump.
“I have no animosity towards Democrats.”
Really? I loathe and despise them. “Hate” is far too weak a word. If there were another civil war, I would take the field against them with a song on my lips.
I can’t stop watching YouTube election night videos.
Have you seen the one for The Young Turks yet?
Yup. When Obama won, conservatives went back to work and moved on. Democrats are the ones who refuse to accept election results when they lose.
This one of Rachel Maddow is my favorite:

“We didn’t think he would win.”
They're only pawns. I loathe and despise their master.
It is always hard to move in a swamp.
