I have bad news for the mainstream media and the Democrats. Time to stock up on absinthe or hightail it down to the medical marijuana store -- Donald Trump is going to be president for eight years. Not only that, he will win reelection much more comfortably, easily winning the popular vote as well as the electoral college.
I'm not saying this because I am in the slightest bit psychic. I always lose in Vegas -- and don't even ask about the track. I'm also not saying it because Trump just had a good week, getting his Supreme Court pick through and taking it to Assad and ISIS, earning him a slight bump in the polls. (They don't mean anything now anyway.)
I am saying it for same reason I predicted Trump would win his first term back in August 2015 -- simple observation of the scene. I should add observation from afar because I have the advantage of watching from Los Angeles. The view is too distorted in the nation's capital where, at least it seems from here, no one can stand each other. (That's okay. People in Hollywood are exactly the same.)
Yes, you can say I'm being stupid and rash to make such an early prediction, but that's just what I was accused of in 2015. So go ahead and call me anything you want. Make my day -- November 3, 2020.
Okay, but why?
To begin with, the media (his main opposition party) has completely blown it in less than the allotted one hundred days. By attacking Trump every which way at once, calling him a racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe, isolationist and warmonger -- yes, the last two are completely contradictory, but that doesn't stop the geniuses in our Fourth Estate -- they have literally turned into the journalistic version of the boy who cried wolf. No one believes them anymore, assuming they ever did in the first place.
And it's only going to get worse because the Trump-Russia scandal is an obvious dud while the Obama-Trump surveillance contretemps could have legs, as we say hereabouts.
The situation is even more dire for the Democratic Party itself. Their geriatric leaders have the charisma of pithed frogs with no successors in sight. More ominously, liberal-progressivism is completely out of ideas. There's no there there except hating everything Trump does -- even eating steaks well done -- and marching around in pussy hats demanding equal rights when many more women are attending college and now law school than men. (Someone should write a Carlyle-style history of the feminist movement from Gloria Steinem to Linda Sarsour.)
Meanwhile, Trump holds the cards. He's a pragmatic center-right businessman in what is still an essentially pragmatic center-right nation. For all his fits and starts, he's making many Americans feel good about their country again. We're not leading from behind anymore. We're back in front. We're the superpower and we're acting for good. China -- the second power in the world -- is already acknowledging that.
People say Trump flip-flops, but who doesn't except rigid ideologues? Flip-flopping can be construed as a good thing, an adaptability to ever-changing situations. Most of us do that, whether we admit it or not.
Nevertheless, Trump has a core. He moves forward with his basics even as he revises them. He's already done a substantial amount of deregulating with more to come. He may not ever build a complete border wall, but illegal immigration is already down substantially just because existing laws are being enforced for once. Oil pipelines are opening. Trade deals are being renegotiated. People are going back to work and consumer confidence is up. And does anyone doubt he'll get some form of tax reform done eventually? I don't.
Healthcare will remain difficult, because it has no good solution. All systems are imperfect. But there is an area in which I predict he will make tremendous inroads that will change our political landscape -- our minority communities. Trump has promised to help African-Americans and he will do it. (No wonder Maxine Waters is apoplectic.) No one else has done this from either party for decades, but Trump will. And he will doubtless bring in the private sector that will make his work all the more successful. It won't just be the same failed government programs we have seen for the last fifty years.
If this makes even ten percent more of the black community swing his way, that's the end of identity politics and the end of the Democratic Party as we know it. It's not just Maxine who should be worried and calling for Trump's impeachment. With identity politics even partially vanquished, 2020 will be the proverbial walk in the park for Republicans.
Here's my last optimistic prediction: Trump's recent foreign policy successes will generate domestic opportunities. Success breeds success. Look for the Republican log jams on healthcare and taxes to break soon. No, my eyesight isn't 2020, but I can see that year from here without my glasses.
Numbers said he wasn’t going to win. So just who is he pleasing?
Cruz is NOT eligible!!!!!!!!!
That went away on January 20, 2009.
In a pig’s eye. Numbers were against him and he won. Numbers are for him and he will lose.
How can anyone predict what the American voter will do when these are the same people that put some Kenyan tribesman in the WH for 8 long years.
What happened to:
Repealing ObamaCare
Building the wall
Reducing taxes
Draining the swamp?
Disappointing. Trump is morphing into George Bush all over again.
Oh, please...
I’m with you. The only fair way to judge Trump is to compare what he is doing to what Hitlery would have done if she had won. Anyone who can not see how much better off we are with Trump is just not very perceptive. I voted Trump solely to save the Supreme Court. Anything else, like the dramatic reduction in illegals crossing the border, is a plus. Will Trump be a transformative President? Time will tell, but at least the movement of this country to the Left has been slowed bigly, if not reversed.
Not sure I agree he will quit. He never has in his life, as long as there is a goal.
I don’t think he cares about making more money. I think he cares about building things and it will take 8 years to build his vision for the country.
Freedom to live as he wants....well, he had that and gave it up for the fishbowl surrounded by hungry sharks. Somehow, I think he thrives on that situation.
So, he’s a builder and a brawler....why would retire after doing only 1/2 the job?
All this talk of age, like it’s this hourglass with all the sand run out. How old are you guys?
I’m 74. Not only do I have dreams and plans, I love being able to use the skills I’ve gained over my life in the present and into the future. Time goes by so quickly at my age, 4 years is an eyeblink...not enough time to get bored.
Trump has 100x my energy. Baring some trauma, I can’t see him slowing down.
Really, it’s true that age is just a number if you are healthy.
Trump already IS winning bigly and are moving mountains.
Remember how we were told that the large lib protests would continue non-stop for four years? Where are those protests? Well, I guess the lefties are demoralized now that Trump keeps on winning and winning. They folded their tents even as tons of Obama regulations were tanked, China and Japan and Russia are respecting us again, and Gorsuch got appointed.
Even the big-mouth squaw Elizabeth Warren scampered back to her teepee to lick her wounds. The libs are closing their eyes and looking the way. They take two Trumpazine pills before going to bed :- )
And "The Russians are Coming to Get Us" fakes news is dying just as Deep State Gate ramps up. We haven't even begun to see the true revelations of Obama's corruption and the exposure of the Clinton Foundation. Sessions is lining everything up. When that happens, it will drive more stakes in the heart of the 'RAT beast.
And what's with a former President hiding in a tiny non-extradition island on the other side of the Earth? Where are the pictures of what he's doing over there? And why is his only known voyage out of Tahiti, an ultra-safe trip to see (and cry on the shoulders of) his Merky globalist friend in Germany -- at the same time as Trump makes his first visit to Europe as President?
And I agree, V K. Trump will quit only when he knows MAGA is well on its way and in good hands. Methinks that's gonna take 8 years...
One thing that's virtually certain: come 2019, the swelling ranks of Deplorables will be out in force BEGGING Trump to run a second time.
They arent bogus.....ivanka and her husband are the new president
_____________
Any REAL evidence besides the echo chamber of MSM/vlogs and pundits?
Peeling off supporters with accusations of *betrayal* (TM) is the MO of the globalists/Uniparty/NeverTrumpers.
Trump did not campaign as a hard right conservative because he isn’t one. He’s a pragmatist and will use unconventional means to arrive at goals.
Once asked on air if he would fire Ivanka if she messed up, he replied: “Like a dog.” I’m sure Jared is in the same category.
So, let us have your inside knowledge bolstered with facts that are not available in 10-minute YT clips that are essentially echos with provocative headlines.
People need to remember The Allegory of the Cave. We are only seeing the shadows on the wall. Shamans interpret them, but no one knows what’s going in inside Trump’s head and so far, even his most *egregious* acts, from a Principled Conservative POV, have either had positive results or, at the least, the negative results are invisible.
Time will tell, but at least the movement of this country to the Left has been slowed bigly, if not reversed.

Agree. People tend to extrapolate to infinity, when things progress in reality by fits and starts, including some backward motion.
Demographics: at least 10% of the donk/NeverTrump voters will be dead and gone by 2020. A perusal of the PewDiePie crowd’s comments on YT (admittedly my only access to this age group) shows a very anti-PC group. They are 14-18 and will vote against the donks as they age. If he accomplishes a fraction of his plans for the inner cities, the donks lose a percentage of identity voters.
SJWs and other fascists are now an international joke. 3 1/2 years is only going to move that faster in the irrevelvancy direction.
Trump has great chances in 2020.
Give him a break. He’s working on these items. Needs Congress to help with these changes and Congress is useless, so far.
We’ll see. In the meantime, we must pray for DJT’s safety.
You are exactly right. to me
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.
Translated into English from an article appearing in the Czech Republic as published in the Prager Zeitung of 28 April 2010
That court case is about his executive order regarding vetting visitors from 6 countries and has nothing to do with DACA.
Obama made up DACA with an executive order and Trump could end it with another but has chosen to allow the illegal program to continue to operate as if it were legal and 11,000 more illegal aliens have been given work permits since he took office.
I don't know why you would characterize fulfilling a four year term as "quitting". To last four years in a job in which you are under a microscope on every aspect of your job is an achievement. He (and his family) are the butt of most late night show "jokes". The news blasts him daily. His critics are unmerciful. Congress is intentionally obstinate. Four years under those conditions are like jogging through quicksand. IF he did something wonderful, the ingrates would not give him credit. Four years is all we can ask of him.
Trump wants to be one of the great presidents. He wants two full terms of successes.
MAGA will take a 2nd term, IMO. (Then another 8 years of whomever, as long as they run on continuing American exceptionalism). That gives us a 16 year run, long enough to raise a generation like the one that grew up under Reagan and render the elder progs irrelevant.
He needs to fill a lot of judicial vacancies. We need to insure the Senate and get supportive folks into the House. All policies take time to filter into the society and become entrenched.
DJT has already begun organizing his 2020 run, so I doubt he sees 4 years as sufficient. Time rushes by at 70. He’s said to Bartilomo that nothing gets done quickly; it’s just the way the process works. He’s been in the media spotlight for a long time and it doesn’t seem to faze him. Melania has grit and Baron is their kid....I am sure they won’t let their enemies succeed in tiring them out.
