Mayor Rahm Emanuel has warned Democrats they need to "take a chill pill" and realize that they are not going to take back national power anytime soon.
"It ain't gonna happen in 2018," Emanuel said Monday at Stanford's Graduate School of Business in California. "Take a chill pill, man. You gotta be in this for the long haul."
As he did last month at an event in Washington, D.C., the mayor expanded on what he believes is the road map back to power for his party — putting moderate candidates such as veterans, football players, sheriffs and business people up in Republican districts, picking battles with Republicans, exploiting wedges within the GOP and fighting attempts to redistrict Congress on partisan grounds....

The problem for the Democrats is that they spent the last of their available taqiyya getting and keeping former President Obama in office. With the collapse of the Clinton crime family, the party is becoming solely the enclave of True Believers, who will no longer hold their nose and vote for a wolf in sheep's clothing--they want the wolf, howl, fangs, and all, and will tear down the nation in order to get him/her, if they are not stopped first.

This was the strategy the Democrats used to take control of Congress in 2006. Remember the Blue Dog Democrats?
Then in 2010 the mask came off and the Dims passed Obamacare and lost control of Congress.
If anything, the Democrats seem to be going away from pretending they are moderates and are doubling down on being the hard left. I think that’s because people like Soros are funding the Democrats now.

Gotta give the boy props for being smart.
Rahm was the architect behind the Blue Dog surge during the 90’s. As an advisor to Obama, he advocated taking an incremental approach to health care and picking off Republican support on pieces of it along the way. He was rebuffed.
The Blue Dogs were wiped off the map in 2010 and Rahm left because he knew Obama was going to go a different way.
Rahm has the right idea, but the tea party movement which focusses on local activism and interest has made it much more difficult to liberals to pretend to be conservatives long enough to get elected. People are wise to that scam now.
I agree with his logic, but disagree with his statement. It is not that too many democrats care more about being right than winning, but rather all democrats care more about is winning and not being right. Because being right is subjective, but winning has them in control to do what they want, right or wrong as the case may prove to be. After all being a Democrat means never having to admit you were wrong about anything.
Ok. What's the deal here? Which issues the Dems ever right on, and of the one's they are right on, which are they losing?

This year was supposed to be the big loser year for Republicans as we had so many seats in moderate districts up for grabs and it did not happen. It would be interesting to see what seats are up in 2 years.
