Donald Trump could attract more support from third party and undecided voters if he plays his cards right. Voters are getting more acquainted with Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, and many would like to see them debate. And the presidential race is looking closer in Wisconsin. This is HuffPollster for Thursday, September 1, 2016.
TRUMP NARROWS LEAD, COULD HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTRACT THIRD PARTY VOTERS - Dana Blanton: The race for the White House has narrowed. A new Fox News Poll finds Donald Trump gaining ground in the head-to-head matchup, despite improvements from Hillary Clinton on top issues .The poll finds Clinton garners 41 percent to Trumps 39 percent, while Libertarian Gary Johnson receives 9 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 4 percent. The third-party candidates take more from Clinton than Trump, as she holds a six-point lead in the two-way matchup: 48-42 percent . On immigration, by a wide 77-19 percent margin, voters support setting up a system for illegal immigrants currently working in the United States to become legal residents over deporting them, and those supporting legalization back Clinton over Trump by 18 points. Trump has an opportunity to attract more support by moving off his hardline position on immigration. Nearly half of Johnson and Stein supporters say theyd be more likely to vote for him if he did, says Democratic pollster Chris Anderson, who conducts the Fox News Poll along with Republican pollster Daron Shaw. Trump could also make a move among undecided voters, if they vote - Mark Blumenthal: Our data confirm the most obvious facets of the undecided they tend to be politically independent with major reservations about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump but also adds some critical nuance, including a slightly more Republican than Democratic tilt

Smart people call this “frantic, fitful night sweats.”
HuffAndPuf now realizes the only way left is to get Gary into the debate.
Important to keep in mind that there really are very, very few “undecided” voters. Studies have show that something like 90% of voters in Presidential elections who call themselves undecided end up voting for the same party they did in the last election.
Would Puffington Host put news of
President Trump back in the entertainment
section where his candidacy dwelt?
Yeah, no. Unless they polled only Wall Street fat cats.
All they need is a good excuse.
And the plaster finally is starting to crack and fall away from the media narrative.
That’s the only reason Bill won. Ross Perot.
I’m hearing Gary Johnson ads all the time now on conservative radio. Clintons likely funding it.
Trump should give a mill to Jill Stein. Those are Bernie voters.
Or not voting at all. Black turnout will not reach the levels of 2008 and 2012.
I’m pretty sure both Johnson and Stein ran in 2012 too. Together they’re unlikely to get 2% this time either.
Trump has become the Freddy Kruger of Hillary’s dreams. Every time Hillary falls asleep, he goes out and grabs more voters.
Could = Has, Is and Will.
We call them “clueless Obama voters”. Soon to be “brainless Hillary voters”.
Undecideds (including soft third party voters) always tend to break for the challenger, don’t they?
I do NOT believe 80% of Americans want to legalize illegals.
And the Left will completely regret supporting her in the first place, when they should have "groomed" a much younger candidate with a lot less political baggage years ago.
Blatantly lying, the polls are the exact opposite, 70% want enforcement.
I heard a bunch during Rush’s show today.
