Donald Trump Jr. gave a speech at the Republican convention last night. Slate's Jordan Weissmann* wrote that it was a bit pandery and over-the-top, but mostly fine—a decent and comptently delivered political speech.
One observer who had a significantly more positive take was frequent CNN guest Andy Dean, who is most well-known for praising a Trump supporter who sucker-punched a black protester at a rally and for getting called out on national television for using a booster seat. Here's Dean, a onetime Apprentice contestant who also worked for Trump at the production company that puts on the Miss USA and Miss Universe paegants....

Oh ...but Jr did better than Eric who was even more stiff on the show.
Jr has an impressive voice. So did Tiffany. I expected neither.
I want Ivanka to be the first female President, not that skank Hillary.
Eric needs to smile wider and put a twinkle in his eyes. Then he wouldn’t look so stiff.
Don’t get me wrong. I am 1000% Trump. But delivery was staccato-like, IMO, doled out in some short 3-5 word bits. This is what Obama does, but not with the rapidity. (The reasons are entirely different, of course: Obama is a moron who is reading lines somebody else wrote for him but has that great voice and sibilant S they all like [ugh]. Jr’s speech reflected the eagerness of a young man that instantly knew everything he wanted to say but just had to wait for the teleprompter to catch up with him.)
The message? Great! But his delivery needs to soften with age for us old farts to catch up with it all. :0)
That is what I was saying last night, it was one of the best speeches I have heard from a non political person..just not sure how Donald Trump can top that one tomorrow night, his son basically said everything that needed to be said..Donald Trump has amazing children, beautiful, bright, great futures, all of them!
Part of Eric’s issue was that he was newer to the show than Ivanka who has been around for some time. LIkely took some getting used to dealing with the format,etc.
On a day to day basis Eric may have as much charisma as Ivanka. I don’t know them so I can’t say. Plus, Eric has been getting a lot of experience since then with the media in this campaign.
Btw, Ivanka would really light up around some celebrities and others..well...you could tell she just didn’t think much of them.
How ironic it would be if Ivanka became the first female POTUS. :)
Agreed. Jr is pretty hyper and would benefit from finding ways to calm himself.

This analysis just means CNN and the other creeps in media haven’t figured out how to destroy Donald trump Jr. Don’t worry. They’re working on it.
Nope. No more political dynasties. Kennedy, Clinton, Bush, etc. I don’t want Trump added to the list.

if anyone still cares about 2 US citizen parents for the president, I believe the only Trump child eligible is Tiffany.
(If i remember correct from previous threads here on FR and my own trying to see dates when Ivana and Melania become citizens)
Barron born March 2006, Melania in her speech said she became citizen July 28, 2006.
Ivana became naturalized citizen 1988.
Eric, youngest of the 3 older kids was born in 1984.
Tiffany only one with 2 us citizen parents.
Dems and especially the Clintons are quite adept at the politics of personal destruction and scorched earth in going after most opposition.
When they can’t find anything, they make up lies.
I thought he could dial down on the intensity and come down maybe an octave.
