John McCain Is About To Do Something That Would Hand The Election To Hillary Clinton
Twitter American Patriot Daily News Network ^ | July 7, 2016

After attending a fundraiser for John McCain’s Senate re-election — a campaign in which McCain is locked in a tight race with conservative primary challenger Kelli Ward — Kristol mused on Twitter if McCain would run as an independent candidate in the presidential election.

But while Kristol was just speculating, McCain added intrigue to the Stop Trump movement with his surprise announcement that the delegates should be free to vote their conscience at the upcoming Republican Convention

Cruz is on probation right now.

We will watch and see what he does at the convention. We will see whether he flames out and ends his political career, or positions himself for a positive role in the future.

We will know soon enough.

The sole purpose of a “delegate” is to vote the way their constituents voted. PERIOD...

They are also there to represent their constituents in the event that the convention goes to multiple ballots - to choose among the other candidates as they believe the people they represent would choose on later rounds of voting.

Reagan did not get 1/10 of the crowds Trump is getting at his rallies. Are you thinking rationally? Trump had 16 opponents sharing votes. Reagan had fewer than fingers on my left hand. Stop spewing illogical stats.

Reagan TRIPLED federal spending during his 8 years. That is a far cry from any fiscal conservatism.

All that said, I was happy to vote for him twice over Carter & Mondale.

That sucks! It’s a lot more than I have, lol, but I bet a number of FReepers have more.

I just read an article from 2013 where he paid THREE MILLION to three debtors and has been giving payments to the kids but 30 million? That’s not gonna happen.

that’s a lot of money to lose, but it’s worth TEN MILLION to me to not get raped by bubba!!!

I wonder if he gets SS? Do actors pay into that? :0

My question is why do we keep posting such tripe on FR? We have enough knee-jerk idiots here as it is w/o causing them to either fret that Hillary may win or to have wet dreams thinking Trump (who beat Cruz) might lose.

To remind people how the RINO’s of our party are against their very own base, and that they need to go. Both McCain & Ryan needed to be sent back home to live under the crap they have created.

The “common sense” change would be for delegate representing a candidate who has NO chance (as someone with only 10-15%) to vote for the leading candidate who may be only a few votes shy of the majority...

These idiots want to take votes AWAY from the leader and raise a loser....

That’s utter BS!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't agree. If Bush's four delegates are from districts where Kasich (a big government, pro-Obamacare, pro-Amnesty, anti-gun liberal whom I despise) placed second, I would have no problem with them voting for Kasich in the second round if Bush freed them and Kasich and his 160 delegates were still trying. The delegates should represent their own constituents, not the country as a whole and certainly not the party leadership.

If, as you say, they should represent their own constituents, then they should never change their vote because that first vote truly represents their constituents...

If they change, then they are going against their constituents vote.

You don’t “guess” as to what their constituents want....

To an extent, you can guess.

If the candidate they are bound to has dropped out, the delegates can: (1) vote for the candidate still in the race who is most similar, or (2) vote for the candidate still in the race who got the most votes in their area. It hasn’t been an issue in several decades, but I like to think of them to the best of their ability voting as they believe the republican voters in their district would vote given the same choices.

I can see a Kasich delegate voting Rubio (if Kasich dropped out and Rubio kept trying) because the two candidates are both pro-Amnesty liberals. I can also see a Kasich delegate voting Cruz or Trump if that was the second most popular candidate in their district, even though neither Cruz nor Trump has much in common with Kasich. Both choices under the reasoning presented reasonably represent the will of the local voters. I would strongly disapprove of a Kasich delegate voting Cruz if Trump was second in that district.

In fact, with Trump holding more than 100 extra pledged delegates and 300-plus extra total delegates, there should be no debate at this point. There is, but that is only because of a tiny minority of unscrupulous big government liberal republicans, supported by extremely liberal journalists who want to see republicans fight each other.
