Fewer than half of Bernie Sanders backers in Texas say they'll vote for Clinton, poll shows

Texas supporters of Bernie Sanders are more reluctant to support Hillary Clinton than Ted Cruz supporters are to support Donald Trump, according to a new poll released Monday morning.

The University of Texas / Texas Politics Project Poll found Texas voters who supported Cruz's presidential campaign are more likely to support Trump than Sanders supporters are to support Clinton. Nearly 70 percent of Cruz voters are ready to vote for Trump, but just 40 percent of Sanders supporters are ready to vote for the former secretary of state.

"Sanders has been reluctant to throw in the towel and endorse Clinton. That's showing in these numbers," said James Henson, a UT-Austin professor and the director of the Texas Politics Project. "Clinton has plenty of time to work with Sanders and his supporters. But I think the ball is very much in Sanders' court right now. The Sanders' voters are likely in large numbers to follow the lead of their candidate. But he's gotta lead them to that place."(continued)

May be true, but the dead are still 95% for Hillary and their registration rate is higher than at any time since the election of 1960

Texas is a big state and thus has a huge population of dead people

Dallas, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio are all huge blue areas. Not so much the most middle class suburbs of these cities, but the cities themselves.

Yes, the inner cities, but not elsewhere.

In 2008, a lot of Her Heinous’s supporters claimed they weren’t going to support Hussein, either. We know how that went.

“Yes, the inner cities, but not elsewhere.”

It’s more than the inner cities, as Obama won Travis, Harris, Dallas and Bexar counties in 2008 and 2012.

Well, not sure what to make of this. It’s hard to figure out how to extend and apply the psychology of a Bernie supporter in TX to the rest of the country.

A Bernie supporter in Texas isn’t a typical Texan.

There are over four Months before the Election.

Plenty of time for the Bernie Lovers to embrace Hillary.

Travis County is more Berkeley than Burleson.

You have to understand the sheer size and scale of Texas to realize that the blue counties here, are on a scale that is comparable to large cities in most other states.

The number of dead people voting has been surpassed by the number of illegals from Mexico, Central and South America and muslims from Syria, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and many other countries.

In solidly Red areas voter ID is strictly enforced and those of us that work in polling places are well trained, take our responsibilities very seriously and don’t bend the rules or the laws governing this process. In Blue or Purple areas - people working are supposed to go through the same training but they are not vigilant and allow a lot of rules to be broken or bent.

Unfortunately, Democrat voters in Texas aren’t concerning since TX would likely go Republican anyway.

The more important studies would be in swing states. I’d also be curious about the bernie supporters in blue states.

Amazing isn’t it, that Klinton still leads in the media mocked up polls.

Texas doesn’t matter a hill of beans...just as NY,CA,MA or IL don’t.Swing states like VA,NC,PA,OH,MI and a few others are what matter.

I think we should prote a write in campaign for Bernie. Every vote for him will be a vote for Trump.

I’d also be curious about the bernie supporters in blue states.

At the end of the day 99% of Bernie supporters will believe her lies about the end of civilization as we know it.They will,as a result, vote for her. It's "independents" in maybe 6 to 8 swing states that are the key.

That, and so called "conservatives" voting for a Marxist masquerading (with help from Hillary) as a "libertarian".
