What's that famous saying? "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." It's time for Ted Cruz to wake up and make the phone call that changes history, changes the GOP, changes the course of America.
It's time to face reality. Donald Trump will be the 2016 GOP presidential nominee. Only Trump has a path to the nomination. Ted Cruz is delusional if he thinks he can win the nomination...or deserves to win the nomination.
He was shut out on Tuesday night. Shut out as in zero, zilch, zip, nada. It was Trump 4, Kasich 1, Cruz 0, Rubio cut from the team.
Cruz can't be the nominee. We're deep into the GOP presidential race on a key Super Tuesday and he can't even win one state. The nomination winner can't be 0 for 5 on a Super Tuesday. That's not a man on the way to becoming leader of the free world.
Kasich can't be the nominee. He just won his first state out of 27. He's 1 win, 26 losses in the GOP race. And the one win was a "homer." The sitting Governor of Ohio just won his own state. My guess is very few sitting Governors have ever lost their home state. So please don't get any delusions of grandeur John! No GOP power broker is stupid enough to award the presidential nomination to a guy who is 1 win, 26 loses. That would be the death of the Republican Party.....

Without taking a position on whether or not having a CRBA = being naturalized (vs NBC), I do think that failing to apply until age 16 speaks to intent.
Cruz won’t make a deal with Trump.
His job, at this point, is a to prevent an outright Trump victory.
Once that happens, we will find out for sure what the real deal is.
Romney/Cruz is a real possibility. Then Cruz can try again in 2020.
>>Ted is a principled conservative,
You guys really need to start putting “principled conservative” in quotes because Ted is proving that it doesn’t mean what you think it means. You’ve turned it into a buzzword that has a different meaning in politics than it does in real life, like “fair” and “honest”.
What principle is it that encouraged Goldman Cruz
to allow the vote on ObamaTRADE?
Secrecy?
Greed?
Given his endless lies, scheming, two faced attitude,
support of the SECRET, and dirty tricks
Cruz is the new Obama. He should drop out, yesterday.
That would go right along with "compassionate conservative" and "severely conservative".
>>That would go right along with “compassionate conservative” and “severely conservative”.
Yep! To politicians, words don’t mean the same thing as they do for people who produce a marketable output.
>>Cruz is the new Obama.
I won’t go that far. He’s more like another Bush.
Or vote for TPA
Or trust Mitch McConnell
I enjoyed your post.
He's basically teaming up with Kasich, of all people, in an effort to stop Trump despite the fact that Trump is the only one with real momentum. He can show the class Rubio did by getting out of the way (and be a real asset by helping) or he can join the list of those who claimed to know better than the people what they needed as Barbour and others did to Mississippi.
He claims to want be a champion of the People and he can do it by humbling himself and working towards what the people seem to be telling him.
“He is staying in to grab a couple hundred delegates to combine with Trump in case he comes up short”
Kaisch will not be able to grab a couple of hundred delegates.
That may be his assignment, but his assigners don’t have a good track record in this election.
You left off the part about voting for TPA.
“A nationalist is not going to save this country; only a true conservative will.”
It is much too late in the game to expect a political ideology will save the country, even the correct one. Our only chance is the right leader. We don’t have the time to allow the correct ideology to percolate down through the masses and they all of a sudden have a “wow” moment.
FDR was a good wartime leader, but that was separate from his liberal ideology.
Reagan’s ideology lasted only month’s after he left office.
Ya know if positions were reversed, I’m guessing Cruz, GOPe, et al would ALL be calling for Trump to concede and “unify the party”.
“True conservatives” have proven to be abject failures at correcting the course of America. How many have we sent there with nothing to show for it?
Trump is conservative enough and his nationalist/populist approach with give us more progress on the conservative front then we have seem in a long time.
Cruz will get chewed up and spit out by the forces of Mordor on the Potomac.
“The Republican results show that 60-65% of the Republicans dont choose Trump.”
I still cannot believe people swallow that nonsense. If you discount Trump based on that logic, you have to reject Cruz even more intensely, because a greater percentage don’t choose Cruz.
Nope. All Kasich and Cruz have to do is combine....
*******************
Kasich is the GOPe kiss of death ,, I support Cruz now but will abandon him if he teams up with that loser.
What I said goes for any deal.
That’s nice.....but I don’t believe the connection between his calculations and reality.
I believe Ted would win a one on one debate with Trump. With that said I would still vote for Trump. I do not necessarily want the best debater. We have had plenty of people in Republican leadership roles that talk a good game, Paul Ryan is an excellent example. He is a great debater and make his positions sound plausible. It is his actions as a result of his lawyer phrasing that turn people off.
Cruz is a lawyer, therefore there is little I believe in what he says. His actions are more important.
