What's that famous saying? "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." It's time for Ted Cruz to wake up and make the phone call that changes history, changes the GOP, changes the course of America.
It's time to face reality. Donald Trump will be the 2016 GOP presidential nominee. Only Trump has a path to the nomination. Ted Cruz is delusional if he thinks he can win the nomination...or deserves to win the nomination.
He was shut out on Tuesday night. Shut out as in zero, zilch, zip, nada. It was Trump 4, Kasich 1, Cruz 0, Rubio cut from the team.
Cruz can't be the nominee. We're deep into the GOP presidential race on a key Super Tuesday and he can't even win one state. The nomination winner can't be 0 for 5 on a Super Tuesday. That's not a man on the way to becoming leader of the free world.
Kasich can't be the nominee. He just won his first state out of 27. He's 1 win, 26 losses in the GOP race. And the one win was a "homer." The sitting Governor of Ohio just won his own state. My guess is very few sitting Governors have ever lost their home state. So please don't get any delusions of grandeur John! No GOP power broker is stupid enough to award the presidential nomination to a guy who is 1 win, 26 loses. That would be the death of the Republican Party.....

Excellent, well-thought out post.
The bottom line is that if the DC establishment is to ever get seriously damaged, it will only come about because people of different political views and different backgrounds unite behind a single candidate, one not beholden to the financial support wing of the establishment, one motivated by love of country, and dedicated to a practical, common-sense approach to governance. This isn’t the time for debate practitioners, political science dissertations, or policy papers.
It is a time that calls for someone who can appeal to disaffected, non-ideological democrats, working class blacks and hispanics, independents, people who have given up on politics. And one who has the approach of surrounding himself with people smarter than himself, and who only cares about getting the job done.
The fact that Trump is, by and large, conservative, is just icing on the cake. But the cake is that the establishment is scared to death that Trump might win, and they should be.
I’ve always liked a Trump/Cruz ticket. That sounds like 16 years of freedom!
“those of us who want a constitutional conservative (and a Christian) for president.”
In that case, why on earth are you supporting Cruz, who is nothing but an opportunist, playing a conservative, because he thought that will get him the nomination and it’s too late now to disavow his “conservative credentials”.
You missed the point. Conservatives need to hold their elected officials accountable rather than being blind followers.
When Trump’s supporters follow him unquestionably, it is disconcerting. Same applies to ANY elected official. I prefer Cruz over Trump, but that does not mean I agree with Cruz on everything.
We need more thinkers in this nation. We need more people who understand how our government was meant to operate.
I hail from SA, so you all are young pups. I hail from the heart of Vaalbara. Hard to compare erosion records when where I come from is 3.1 billion + years old, but I bet you all look better in a bikini. ;-)

I hail from between the a’s in the right image of SA
JMHO but perhaps Sen. Ted has nothing to offer (ie - proof of NBC)and unable to make that offer due to the fact to cement the partnership this would be required. Is Sen Ted fearful of something other than losing? Ummm just wondering aloud. And hoping he comes to his senses and actually picks up the phone to call. Truce be upon US. THEN we begin to fight in earnest.
No I didn’t miss your point. I agreed with everything you wrote. When supporters have such high expectations due to their excessive devotion, they will be more inclined to be in denial of their leader’s poor performance. It is better to have modest expectations and be more willing to object when their leader does wrong. Obama has showed us what happens.
You can remain delusional all you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that Cruz is a globalist. Want to talk about someone’s background? Then dig into Ted & Heidi Cruz’s work in the Bush administration. She was working on destroying our national borders for a North American Union. What the he** do you think the CFR is?
Do your research before you start barking about things of which you are ignorant. Ted’s vote for the TPP destroys our American sovereignty. If you are okay y with that, then continue to drink the kool and because you are hopeless. Trump’s past was as a private citizen - Ted’s isn’t. There’s a differences, which you are incapable of discerning. Such a naive, ignorant voter are you.
You just said a nationalist is the only one that can win the general election. Now you’re saying look at the Republican results?
The Republican results show that 60-65% of the Republicans don’t choose Trump.
By coincidence, nationwide Trump has a 60% disapproval rate.
By my calculations, that gives him 40% of the total electorate to work with. That means he loses the general election before he even starts.
I didn’t say Trump couldn’t beat Hillary. The guy I was responding to says Cruz couldn’t beat Hillary. That is the folly I was exposing.
However, a 60% disapproval rating by Trump is absolutely abysmal. That is going to be a monumental challenge to overcome.
Delusional is believing that a 60% disapproval rate is no problem. That is abysmal.
Yeah, Ted, let’s call Trump after he kept saying that you lie all the time after holding up a Bible. That’d be real smart, Ted.
I like a lot of what WAR says, but he’s pro-abortion. What is wrong with people?
OK. Smarty Cat. Let’s make things easy for you:
What are Cruz’s positions on abortion and Obamacare?
What are Trump’s positions on abortion and Obamacare?
Who’s positions have been the same?
Don’t give me the private citizen/businessman excuse, because that’s complete bull. I can tell you that my core character and values don’t change. They are what I am. I would never even think of supporting pro-abortion candidates merely because it benefits me personally. That shows no character whatsoever.
Furthermore, who financially supported a who’s who in liberal politics for the past 40 years, who not only supported abortion, but also those who opposed your sacred cow immigration issue? Yes. Donnie supported the liberal half of the Gang of Eight.
Why are you so hateful, spiteful, and defensive?
What in the world did Cruz ever do to warrant this hatred? The allegations you are making are ridiculous, baseless, and/or exaggerated.
Furthermore, are trade and immigration all you people care about?
They are like yours. Don’t live there anymore. Place went to hell. Emigrated to the states, and became a citizen. We seem to have more fervor for what makes this place great than the natural born. We chose it for a reason. ;-) Cause it freaking rocks!!!, .... or at least did. So go Trump.... Bring it and rock this place out....

Exactly my point. Thank You! :-)) We fight among ourselves over a candidate who might not be considered near eligible. If the Cruz man came into this arena with hope he might be able to walk out a winner - only shows the arrogance the man posses. A brilliant mind! Perhaps, but would not a brilliant mind come to terms with reality? Is the man so delusional he feels he can conquer all with no proper arsenal? Why so fearful as to keep all records (his and mothers) under lock and key? Why not go to the court while there is still time and have them judge to determine the truth? The question has been asked from the time he entered - and to date nothing has been seen or heard to change my mind. That he is unable to come up with any answer can only be due to one of two - 1. He is NOT an NBC and knows it (thus fearful) or 2. He+Trump have developed between themselves a play. Each acting their part to open the doors in our Written Constitution vs. the Living Constitution. An answer is buried somewhere and many of us who do wish to abide by our Constitution - as written, are attempting to find that answer without a shovel.
Of course there is always the possibility the the GOPe has played us for fools so many times prior that the mind has completely deteriorated, no longer properly functioning, and becoming paranoid and delusional. My only defense is age and blond.
Astute analysis. Thank you, wise person.
