Authorities: Trump unlikely to face charges for inciting violence

The top lawyer for a North Carolina sheriff’s office late Monday admitted that authorities are likely incapable of charging Donald Trump with inciting a riot during a campaign rally last week.

“It doesn’t appear that we have sufficient evidence to warrant charging him at this time,” said Ronnie Mitchell, the lead attorney for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, according to The Washington Post.

ADVERTISEMENT “We’re hoping to wrap it up in the next couple hours,” he said Monday evening of the investigation into the GOP presidential front-runner’s actions on March 9 in Fayetteville, N.C. “We have not been able to unearth evidence that [any instances] were incited or motivated by Mr. Trump,” Mitchell added of nearly 100 incidents getting probed by the sheriff’s office, including individual protests.

Reports emerged earlier on Monday that authorities were looking into the charges after a Trump supporter allegedly assaulted a protester last week.

Trumped up charges would have failed miserably in court anyways. But this is good news for Trump campaign. No more need to get bogged down in frivolous charges.

“The top lawyer for a North Carolina sheriff’s office late Monday admitted that authorities are likely incapable of charging Donald Trump with inciting a riot during a campaign rally last week.” Meaning: The sheriff doesn’t want to face a recall election.

That sheriff might find himself facing some serious federal charges for not protecting Trump and not keeping that bum out of where Trump and his voters were.

There are severe laws on the books that make what happened to Trump in Chicago and other places illegal. See #1 below. Then, there are severe laws for those involved in conspiracies against political events. So some rectums sitting in front of their computers organizing and ordering actions like what happen to Trump last week could find themselves facing severe fines and jail time. See #2 below.

#1:

For one thing, the law makes it easier for the government to criminalize protest. Period. It is a federal offense, punishable by up to 10 years in prison to protest anywhere the Secret Service might be guarding someone. For another, it’s almost impossible to predict what constitutes “disorderly or disruptive conduct” or what sorts of conduct authorities deem to “impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions.”

#2:

There is another interesting Code/law that applies the conspiracy/violation of peaceful assembly and free speech.

18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; .... They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 696; Pub. L. 90–284, title I, § 103(a), Apr. 11, 1968, 82 Stat. 75; Pub. L. 100–690, title VII, § 7018(a), (b)(1), Nov. 18, 1988, 102 Stat. 4396; Pub. L. 103–322, title VI, § 60006(a), title XXXII, §§ 320103(a), 320201(a), title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(L), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 1970, 2109, 2113, 2147; Pub. L. 104–294, title VI, §§ 604(b)(14)(A), 607(a), Oct. 11, 1996, 110 Stat. 3507, 3511.)

Charge Obama for inciting violence by inviting Black Lives Matter to the White House this past February.

I wonder if Trump's lawyers laid the law down hard on these political hacks.

I am not going to face charges either for inciting riots at Trump rallies. Boy what a relief that is. And neither will my Aunt Clara be facing charges, or my Uncle Homer or my third cousin Michael.

I used to think what you suggested ‘charging Soros for inciting violence’ was what the World Court in The Hague was for. Now, I don’t know if such an enforceable legal method exists.

Is suborning stupidity also a crime?

If so, Death Sentence for Soros.

Not a lawyer. I have put together some recent posts/replies re a new law approved by congress and other established laws.

Since Trump has secret service protection, there are some severe penalties for interfering with him and his followers like in Ohio, since he has secret service protection.

What happened in Chicago was a conspiracy against his constitutional rights and his voters. It was planned and plotted before the rioting, and it was not a legal protest.
