The RCP averages polls bears this out — ALL the GOP candidates poll much better against Hillary than they do against Sanders.

I would think Sanders would be easier to beat than Hillary, but in this ass backwards nation, who knows anymore?

Interesting. I expect many Sanders voters may vote for Trump if they perceive the Fix was in all along. Seems that way.

I think Sanders is harder to beat than Clinton, he has a lot of enthusiastic support among the young.

I don’t see any way Bernie survives in key swing states like Ohio or Florida. If a general election focuses more attention on his radical lunacy, I don’t see it being close.

According to surveys, Trump is the only GOP candidate who would lose to Hillary, so I’d say that if Trump is the GOP candidate, the Dems’ only hope is to run Bernie.

In that case, Bernie would probably win, because Trump and Sanders are both lefty statists but Bernie is promising even more freebies to a larger group.

In truth, neither Sanders nor Clinton can beat Trump’s powerful nationalism/patriotism/law-&-order platform, because both offer no alternative, just insults. But let leftist media indulge in their fantasies, we’ll still crush them like cockroaches on election day.

The problem for Bernie is he’s getting ripped-off big-time by the Democratic Party’s insider dirty tricks designed to insure Hillary wins. Like the 6 rigged coin tosses in IA (and let’s be honest, of course they were rigged, nobody wins 6 in a row, even in Vegas) or the pre-arranged card deck in NV where, surprise surprise, Hillary draws the unbeatable ace .... what a joke.

But then, what we all really want to see is Hillary and her conspiracy of lies utterly demolished and sent sent to the rubbish pile by Trump, so .... go Hillary! Go sacrificial beast!! You choked in 2008, and 2016 will be a repeat performance.

Imagine the Donald looking very presidential in his usual impeccable suit and tie opposite Bolshevik Bernie, the guy who always looks like he slept in his car
Imagine craggy Bernie making trump look young and strong
Now imagine the rhetoric of lifetime communist who never built anything but wants to make everything free
vs a guy who wants to be America’s Daddy Warbucks

Not even close

Bernie is my preferred alternative to Rubio. Against Trump he stands no change. I hope Hillary stands no chance either. What would really keep me home from the polls would be Hillary - Rubio. Actually, on the principal that GOPeee delenda est, I would hold my nose close my eyes and vote for Hillary. But it is a tough call.

GOPee needs to get a message. They are over. They are done. Not jucy and tender done, but tough charred to a cinder done.

Democrats are insistently repeating their belief that a Trump nomination will mobilize liberals to head to the polls like never before, but with nobody particularly enthusiastic for Clinton's candidacy, it's not implausible that a large number of people will find both options so unappealing that they stay home.

There's a third option, Nate, ol' buddy, and I can see why you don't want to mention it. That's that they might just be so tired of the incessant Hillary crime schtick that they'll vote for The Donald. That's what the Dems are really afraid of.

And frankly, I don't see Bernie The Bolshevik appealing to a broad enough demographic to go toe to toe with anyone left on the Republican slate. Bush could have beaten him.

Good article and comments. Democrats ‘must make absolutely sure that Bernie Sanders is the Democratic nominee for President.’

If Sanders is the nominee, then Trump probably wins by a lot, since Bernie is boring and stupid.

If Clinton is the nominee, then Trump probably wins by a little, since women will automatically vote for a woman.

Fun read. The writer, a smirky lefty, is about to wet himself at the thought of Hillary having to face the Donald.

Comments? Bwahahahahahah!! The DEMs are monnbats, if they think Sanders can beat Trump. The communist kiddos don’t outnumber the old farts, yet.

“Comments?”

Just that we keep seeing articles like the one you just posted, namely that the Democrats are terrified of Trump and don’t seem to be too concerned about beating any of the other Republican candidates.

Salon is going crazy attacking Hillary and promoting Sanders because of Trump.

Trump could beat FDR if they dug him up. This notion that a businessman who wants to fix Washington cannot beat a Communist or a felon is ridiculous.

Until Sanders replaces Hillary, there won’t be any really accurate polls as to how anyone on our side would do against him. Just as a lot of Jeb’s base seems to have started trickling Trump’s way instead of towards Rubio (whodathunk), I would suspect that dynamics will take some “adjusting” id Hillary is knocked out of it. Sanders may sound benign (and sometimes confused) but there is lots of potential ammo if one is willing to expend it at the risk of upsetting the leeches ...
