r months, the press and the Republican establishment alike have been expecting the Trump bubble to implode. Now that it is clear Trump is not going anywhere, we are seeing stories about a long slog of a campaign or even a brokered convention. But there is a very real possibility that, far from those kinds of days of reckoning, Donald Trump could actually RUN THE TABLE. Ironically, Trump not only could win â he could win more decisively than any non-incumbent Republican contestant for the nomination since the dawn of the modern primary system.
New Hampshire
First, let us look not at Iowa, but at New Hampshire. Trump has been leading in New Hampshire by double-digits since August. If those polls are to believed, Trump is poised not only to win, but to win decisively.
Conventional wisdom is that whichever establishment-friendly candidate places second â at this point John Kasich is lined up behind Trump, but Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, and even Jeb Bush are all said to have a shot â is going to be Trumps most-viable challenger for the nomination. But if Donald Trump dominates with 30 to 40 percent of the vote in New Hampshire, and they come in 15 to 20 points behind, how is that possible?

But wait! Where’s surging Ted??
This is one of the most accurate, objective essays so far on the GOP primary campaign.
How can they say this when theres been no primary to date? Just asking...
Accept it. America wants a liberal. One who will entertain them and say anything the audience want to hear, it’s a beautiful thing.
Shouldn’t we wait for the actual voting to take place?
Has a single vote been cast yet?
The only thing that will stop this runaway train known as the Trump Express is Trump himself.
But how? What could he do that would derail his campaign?
He’s made a million mistakes that would send an ordinary politician home in disgrace and failure. But these insults, contradictions and attacks only bolster his support.
Agree. as well hillary will be such damaged goods by the fall that she will suppress the democrat vote. heaven help her if she debates the donald.
It will be a landslide election. the dems will discover they’re completely washed out of power up and down the ballot.
This has already been posted. Better yet, you changed the title....
Donald Trump is poised for the strongest primary performance in modern history
Apparently, Ted Cruz lacks the ability to rally people to his cause. They ain't buying what he's selling. It's either the message or the messenger and judging by recent endorsements, it's likely the messenger.
This will make his head bigger.
Correct, Americans enjoy liberalism and being entertained.
But do not believe me, let you lying eyes watch recorded videos.

I wonder if we saw Bush never defend himself that because Trump always defends himself, we like it?
see post #14.
I know the one thing.
It has been staring me in the face the whole time and I think why people say he is not a serous candidate.
Barring something major, the GOP race could be over by mid-March.
Many of those early states, however, are awarded proportionally. Many later states are winner-take-all.
Many of the southern states, who formerly had primaries late in the spring, have moved their primaries to early March. This gives them more influence than in previous elections.
If Trump is the nominee, he could likely upset the Dem hold on the northeastern states, and especially NY.
Did not show up in my search. Anyway, it does not hurt to post it again. It is HISTORICAL news.
Yes, RNC has tampered the primary process to favor their anointed candidates.
