ccording to the transcript of Donald Trump's interview with Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes, Mr. Trump favors a single payer health care plan in certain situations. During the interview, Pelley asked Mr. Trump what his plan was to replace Obamacare would look like. Mr. Trump responded, saying "I am going to take care of everybody. I donât care if it costs me votes or not. Everybodyâs going to be taken care of much better than theyâre taken care of now." When Pelley pressed Mr. Trump further about who would pay for this coverage, Mr. Trump said "the governmentâs gonna pay for it."

It’s an OLD thread, an OLD statement, and who knows what he will do as president? You don’t.
It’s actually NOT his first priority anyway....the ILLEGAL HORDE and ISIS are; also the economy.
And you know what? Cruz hasn’t said what he’ll do.
********************************************************************************
Yes, I see that these statements on what he’ll do to replace Obamacare are THREE MONTHS old. But that’s several months “younger” than his statements about he’ll build a wall. So your statement about “who knows what he’ll do as president” may be right on.
I’m still a Trump supporter (secondary to Ted Cruz) so I’m wishing him to do well. But, he’s still “finding” his core beliefs...and he needs to get those solidified soon.
Does your livelihood come, from healthcare?
You seem to be defending a system which was broken.
Just wondering why.
Can you prove any of that? Or, are you just bringing things out of thin air?
Ohhhhh BS !
As if a few Ted Cruz supporters here on FR is going to make a hill of beans.
You Trump supporters keep spewing that BS.
I ain’t going to vote for Trump and it sure ain’t because of his supporters.
Besides the state that I live in doesn’t matter either.
Trump or Cruz will gain or loss supports on their own mert.
The many people I know are turned off by Trump’s arrogant attitude, his childish antics, and the Trump supporters that I do know are turned off by him and switched their support to Ted Cruz.
A honest and thinking voter will support or not support a canidate on his or her’s own mert and won’t be aware by emotions because of a few supporters.
At least you admit it....
So your interpretation is that Trump wants to expand Medicare and therefore that is what is un-Republican?
How else do you make your interpretation of: “Everybody’s got to be covered” if it is not an expansion of Medicare that’s being ‘un-Republican’”?
Most who like Trump also like Cruz. I know I do. But some Cruz supporters here on FR actually say they will not vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. That is scorched earth thinking - scorched earth is a loser’s tactic, it’s a resentful vengeful act that happens during a retreat. Hillary getting elected -> because you won’t vote for Trump -> because Cruz didn’t win the nomination is a retreat. No other rational or coherent way to look at it.
*******************************************************************************
I agree 100%. Any Cruz supporter who says he/she will not vote for Trump if he gets the nomination AND any Trump supporter who says he/she will not vote for Cruz if he gets the nomination IS WISHING FOR A ‘RAT VICTORY. And it’s pure “let’s burn down our house” insanity.
The other thing the scorched earthers need to remember is harboring resentment and bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for your “enemy” to die. In reality the only person it hurts is you. Not voting for whoever wins the nomination becasue of emotionally based spite and resentment is a vote for Hillary, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
I've NEVER called Cruz a "globalist" nor trashed his wife. But it appears that Cruz's supporters would rather LIE, insult, besmirch, and impugn than have civil discourse.
Neither have I EVER posted a thread that is solely flame bait.
OTOH, I am so sick of you and your ilk and your antics, that I'm ready, willing, and able to use your tactics against you.
What universe are you living in? Set aside the fact that many people (including me and my family) lost our perfectly good health plans because they could not afford the B.S. mandates. Set aside the fact that most Americans are now paying higher premiums and higher deductibles for a reduced level of care. Set aside all of the other facts that resulted in the degradation of the U.S. health care system under Obamacare. The absolute tragedy of Obamacare, and any Universal Health Care scheme is that we are now a country in which the government can force us to buy a sevice, whether we want it or not.
Notice how everytime you fail to establish facts (such as the word "expand") in your argument, you turn to saying "Oh, your interpretation assumes something that I assume and have failed to prove." Hence my much stronger argument that you are either an idiot or a liar.
I am of course assuming that you know that a key part of Obamacare is to force the states to expand Medicare - which many, if not most, Republican states refused to do.
I read that chapter a couple times. I did it a few months ago when we were debating this the first time, and reread it now. While he does complement Canada and the U.K., he says that they are in financial difficulty. His proposal is to extend the same tax breaks given to corporations to individuals so they can choose their own private plan from private companies. He does admittedly say that everybody should be covered. But his solution is to increase competition to increase affordability and choice.
LOL...a still from ROOTS; a totally fictional story and one that was plagiarized at that ! :-)
A universe where the health care companies charge me for double or triple the price for medicines that I can get for almost nothing in another country. Karl Dinniger of the Market Ticker has long documented this. That's been true long before Obamacare came out.
The system is broken and has been broken.
