The Ted Cruz campaign for president took a chance booking a venue as large as the Harriet Island Pavilion in St. Paul for a rally.
Not to worry. Thursday night, 500-plus Cruz supporters packed the place, a testament to the Texas senator's increasing strength in the Republican field of presidential candidates. They cheered, hooted, and hollered at the candidate who spits out bites of his conservative philosophy with a Texas drawl and John Wayne simplicity.
When he is president, he said, âWe will have a president willing to utter the words âradical Islamic terrorism.ââ
When he is president, he said, âWe will take on ⦠the alphabet soup of federal agencies that descend like locusts,â destroying businesses....

“When he is president, he said, “We will have a president willing to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’”
I believe he is willing to utter the words, but I don’t think for a moment that he has the cojones to actually do anything.

Then, IMHO, your thinking leaves a lot to be desired.

Just as a matter of curiosity, may I ask if you are a military veteran?
I ask because I am baffled that so many fail to see that he is weak.

I am indeed...with 42 months of my service in Vietnam (I’m a geezer).
“Packing the place with 500-plus.”
I guess you’d call that size crowd CRUGE.
Okay, well, there’s one hypothesis shot.
Got a trash bag?
If you don’t mind, may I ask one more question.
How would you feel about going into battle with Cruz on your right?
Don’t fudge, now. Give me a straight answer.
Listen sport, why don’t you go troll somewhere else?
What is your basis for that opinion?
I don’t think you can equate bullying with strength.
Cruz has more John Wayne swagger. Man of his word.
I bet there are a bunch of things that baffle you.
Spoken like someone who has nothing but words to add to the mix and hasn't a clue of what reality is.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
Actually, it's the author who is clueless. Repeating your statements from the debate is not "doubling down", it's being consistent. "Doubling down" is an Obama tactic (and phrase), that generally describes taking a bad position on a situation, and making it far worse.
Cruz doesn't have a "Texas drawl", either, though I'll bet that he often wished he did. Plain spoken Texan usually says it all.....with few words.
John Wayne simplicity...
That’s a laugh. Ted Cruz can’t use five words when making a point if 100 words will work.
Red and black checked flannel shirts? In downtown St. Paul? Maybe on butch lesbians.
Minnesota has conservatives ?
The real story here is this leftist thought Cruz would have only 25-30 supporters but packed the 500+ venue.
Yes, but they all go to Texas for the winter.
