“When he is president, he said, “We will have a president willing to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’”
I believe he is willing to utter the words, but I don’t think for a moment that he has the cojones to actually do anything.

“Packing the place with 500-plus.”

The picture show how clueless Cruz is about Minnesota. Every one knows that REAL Minnesota Lumberjacks wear red and black checked flannel shirts, not sissy yellow and blue. Wink, wink.
Actually, it's the author who is clueless. Repeating your statements from the debate is not "doubling down", it's being consistent. "Doubling down" is an Obama tactic (and phrase), that generally describes taking a bad position on a situation, and making it far worse.
Cruz doesn't have a "Texas drawl", either, though I'll bet that he often wished he did. Plain spoken Texan usually says it all.....with few words.

John Wayne simplicity...
That’s a laugh. Ted Cruz can’t use five words when making a point if 100 words will work.

The real story here is this leftist thought Cruz would have only 25-30 supporters but packed the 500+ venue.

"People are tired of what I call campaign conservatives, people who talk a good game on the trail but haven't walked the walk," Cruz said before he addressed the crowd. He referred to supporters as "that old Reagan coalition come back together," who during the caucus and primary season next year will unite behind his candidacy. Walking the walk. Yep.
